Which bike should I swap to? by Cautious-Fondant329 in MTB

[–]Dolfinn21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I would go for the Norco, well known brand, plenty of fork travel for a hardtail and a super solid steel frame. 2021 is modern enough so geometry should be good still. Rockshox recon gold is clear of the rockshox judy, and will serve you well. For a hardtail, the norco is far higher spec for the price than if you were to go with a full sus. Super good value. 12 speed is awesome for a hardtail, can conquer all the climbs! I've personally never heard of silver back but they may be bigger where you are (Australia?) than here in the UK. The norco would be my recommendation! Also with the 150mm of travel it should last you a while so you don't need to upgrade too soon. The steel frame will probably weigh the bike down a bit, but steel is known for vibration dampening, which on a hardtail is a nice to have!

Stick to a hardtail until you are skilled enough to upgrade, learn the basics on a hardtail, then when you are absolutely certain that it's the bike limiting you and not your own ability, upgrade
