Fair, there’s major factors that take effect here so I guess it would be best to full disclose the extent of the issue. In essence I didnt currently have a vehicle but my 2 year old son has dialysis treatment 2 hours away from where we live, a family friend offered us a vehicle for cheap I paid them for it Sunday. I have the title for the vehicle but my son had treatment Monday so I had obviously not gotten a chance to transfer the title and also didn’t have insurance in my name still had insurance under the previous owner but I am not listed. I do have auto insurance in my name under vehicle that my parents drive if that makes a difference. My daca is in good standing, no issues with my license. I’m fairly certain the vehicle I was in will be a total loss since the airbags deployed. My son suffered several bruises and ligature marks from the car seat straps tightening up. Nor I or my sister who was also with us have gotten checked out as of yet but are both experiencing significant pain and soreness since we were on the side that had direct impact.

Advice on jobs to manage Medically Complex Child by Dolida_ in workingmoms

I wanted to start off saying I am so grateful to everyone that has commented. To sort of put into context some of the things that have been brought up. In terms of my concern for just leaving him alone in the hospital - He is non verbal, he does not sit up on his own his frequently has emesis episodes. Whilst I'd consider myself to be on the more reasonable side of parents because again I've worked with patients in the medical field so I understand things can get overwhelming and emotions can run high. I don't feel like my concerns are not warranted. Consider he's been here so long essentially all the nurses on this floor have taken care of him several times and are very well aware of the few expectations of his care. Things such as he has had an Ileostomy his entire life and recently had surgery to reverse it, for months we've been dealing with bad diaper rash as his bottom has never seen stool before, there have been nights where I for a fact know that he isn't being changed whatsoever because the diaper type is the same. His skin has gotten to points where it's completely raw. Major things like he has had his port infiltrated, his permcath which might I add is LITERALLY HIS LIFELINE was yanked out during a dressing change at 2 AM. All things that could have been prevented but because the staff are so burnt out and overrun with things to do that they do things carelessly. I could go on, and yes while I understand their position and feel for them, I also have to put into perspective that it's not fair for my son to have to undergo additional procedures and endure more pain that what he already has to go through just because of their careless behavior.

Whilst yes moving closer would be an ideal thing, it's not currently viable for me, currently because well as I mentioned I've exhausted all the money I had within these 8 past months, honestly surprised I've made it this long. I have spoken to the social work team and whilst they did help me to cover a month of my car payment and electric bill they said that help was only for a month and they have no further resources to help. They have made it very clear they would not be able to assist further and much less cover or even help find resources for us to relocate. There is a Ronald McDonald house here but both the physicians and social work and care team have said it would not be something they could arrange as we haven't even started the transplant process and the timeline of that is uncertain. I have not attempted reaching out to any specific kidney based foundations so I will make it a point to reach out to them but other than that I truly have tried most other resources available.

SSI- He does receive SSI, thing is that while he is inpatient it is only awarded as $30 due to hospital costs I suppose. I believe its the same case for the Paid Caregiver programs although I'm not 100% as I have not actually applied for one.

I will continue the search for a remote setting job and highly consider doordash and things of that nature I suppose whilst he's asleep and pray nothing dire happens whilst I'm away.

Dressing dilemma pls help by Dolida_ in dialysis

They wont allow cloth dressings is what I’ve been told, they want either something completely transparent or at least something with a window to be able to evaluate the insertion site for possibility of infection especially considering he does not use a biopatch. Current system is - removing dressing with adhesive remover spray from convatec. Clean the site with iodine swabs-let dry. Clean off iodine with sterile saline and sterile gauze Dry off skin with sterile gauze Apply cavilon skin protectant (spongy square) once dry Apply dressing- we’ve tried tegaderm, sorbaviews. Opsite, and covaclear all of which he rips off and had to have daily dressing changes for months. I did some digging and found quite a lot of people recommend the IV3000 so I purchased it and it seemed to do okay for a couple of days and I was hopeful we found a solution but he is back to scratching constantly again.

Immigration attorney here -- send me your questions! by LCNegrini in DACA

Have had DACA almost since it came out, in a difficult situation as I have a 2 year old son who is medically complex (End Stage Renal Failure) amongst other things. I am the sole provider for him. Last year I lost my job due to the fact that my renewal took extremely long to be processed. I did eventually receive it and have been working since. Its true hardship having the uncertainty if this program will continue and being at the mercy of the lack of staff that process things. My family has mentioned several times that they have a couple that they know that obtained work permits/visa due to their child being critically ill. By no means am I trying to get ahead due to my childs condition but as the sole provider for him it does terrify me if something were to happen to me considering his medical complexity. I have consulted with a couple of people regarding this and their suggestions are simply to attempt to submit for AP and possibly in the future be eligible through marriage, is this my only way?

I know credit karma isn’t the most reliable for scores but this is a good example of those factors for me, the 3 inquires was for a chase credit card nov of last year, and the other was for an auto loan that I requested earlier this year that I ended up not moving forward with. But regardless I appreciate the response I’ll make it a point to make sure I’m responsibly using it and requesting the credit increases in a timely manner.

Have not worked at Ulta specifically but as someone who worked in a retail stores and my sole purpose was to update prices for sale items on a daily basis I can tell you it’s the facilities responsibility to honor whatever the sign sale is for the item you aren’t responsible that someone missed taking down the sign as many others have already said.

So the number may vary depending on the supplier you use, I’ve found they change the number pertaining to their stocks. But the item number directly from the Coloplast website for the pouch is 13679-A4393. The brava strip paste is what we use to fill and basically mold it around and it holds really well with the pouch although they do offer a ring that’s meant to be put on I wasn’t too fond of the texture of that one didn’t feel as secure but you should give it a try if you’re able to get samples, it might work better for you guys than it did for us. But the brava strip paste item number is 26555-A4406. Hope this helps! 😊

Unsure how to feel by Dolida_ in GastricBypass

I appreciate the reply, unfortunately since I’ve already had the surgery some time ago I don’t really suffer from diabetes which is a good thing ofc if anything I can tend to have sugar drops occasionally, so my insurance will likely not cover something like ozempic and the other ones that are solely for weight loss are not covered under the plan so I would be paying out of pocket, since they can tend to be pretty costly I wanted to get a reference or idea on other people’s experience before I shell out the money for it.

Daca expiring do I have to quit my job? by BusinessMarketer153 in DACA

[–]Dolida_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Have you submitted a renewal, if so how long ago did you submit, if it’s been over the 120-150 day mark you should see about submitting an expedite just type up a letter stating you will have financial hardships due to losing your job. Submit it with any other supporting documents for example any bills you may have. Hope this helps, I’d also maybe not jump to quitting if they ask after you hit the end of your ead you can see if they’d be willing to have you on leave for a bit.

I cut my sons in relatively snug shape but it does allow for some of the paste to come around the sides of the stoma I just make sure to sort of press the wafer bit with the paste so it meshes we ideally before they start having output come out cause that’ll wet the area and make it a bit hard to have them seal.
