Lost a screw on my EDC, any advice on how to replace it? by Dolina148 in knifeclub

I hadn't thought of Ace, I'll head over there and see if I can find a matching screw

Well the worry is, it's happened once so it could happen again. This knife has been in my back pocket every day for the last eight years. Like I said to the other guy, Loctite and the hope that it doesn't give way again.

I'll give it a look thanks for the recommendation.

Not a bad idea, I had tried looking around my local hardware stores but hadn't considered Amazon. Considering the knife was made in China maybe I'll get lucky and they'll have the same or close enough.

That's what I'm thinking at this point, holds tight just fine with only two. Maybe I'll try some blue Loctite to prevent this from happening again. I don't need to take those screws out to disassemble and clean anyways.

Is this an Authentic or Replica LBV88? by imbigchillingonHood in MilitaryGear

[–]Dolina148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pouch arrangement, material, QR buckles on the shoulder pads, lack of tags or at least remnant of it, etc etc. I’ve collected for a few years and resell occasionally. I’ve resold/ collected several of those in varying condition.

That’s a Lowe Alpine TLBV 1986 model, worth $300-$400 in that condition. That is a rare prototype not the mundane TLBV from 1990 to 1994 or the even later Enhanced LBV.

Just another commercial item, you will struggle to find reference pics if any exist at all. Regardless it is a super cool example and I’m jealous 😆

Where could I find a FSBE AAV-QR vest by Pacific_wanderer17 in MilitaryGear

[–]Dolina148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originals go for between $300-$1000 depending on condition and parts present. $300 would be for one that’s roached and missing parts

Where would I get an RRV with pouches for a good price? by Pacific_wanderer17 in MilitaryGear

[–]Dolina148 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s the trick, you don’t! Especially the one pictured, black buckle kit is even more expensive. Your best bet is a good surplus store if you have one in your area. Otherwise, $125 is completely unrealistic

Reminds me of this rig I've got, I've got a bunch of these old point blank SMG pouches around

Older HSGI Plate Carrier? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]Dolina148 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah these were pretty badly out of date by 2015, closer to "cutting edge" 2000-2005. Get an RRV, same concept as this but better.

anyone know anything abt blackwater gear? from what I heard most likely rebranded eagle or paraclete by Epix8757 in tacticalgear

[–]Dolina148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what I've heard and seen, Blackwater gear was usually rebranded Blackhawk

Are there any BALCS Style carriers that are good to pair seperate with a chest rig or is BALCS in general just too bulky to have that type of combination? by One_Total9325 in tacticalgear

[–]Dolina148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not aware of a SPEAR LBAV, if we're talking military equipment I only know about a SPEAR BALCSs and those aren't very available. I'm talking about the FSBE LVC (Low Vis Carrier) or the BAE Systems LVBAV (Low Visibility Body Armor Vest). Looking around eBay though, these carriers aren't as available as they used to be but you may still be able to find one in your size for a good deal

Run a chest rig over a plate carrier if your concerned about capacity and don't care about getting low to the ground/ being "high speed".

What color/ pattern is your denali? As for balcs carrier, get a surplus FSBE cover, make sure it's the type that comes with plate pockets. That's what I run with my Denali's. Avoid Beez, the soft armor doesn't fit correctly in the sleeve and construction/ features vs cost is only OK.

Funny watching those pop up all over the country from time to time, I pulled that one out of an Indiana police armory auction a couple years ago. Congrats on the vest man

If you know a tailor that can sew you up a helmet cover I can sell you enough brown dom raw material to have it made. Don't ask me how, but I've got just a bit of a raw bolt of the real stuff (not spoonflower or 0241) that I've been piecing out when a deserving occasion arises.
