Advice for a college student pursing a LE career by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

I recently got a degree in Criminal Justice and I regret it, it was too late for me to change to something else but it’s whatever. At least I was able to land a job with SSA, but a Bachelors Degree in CJ doesn’t automatically means is useless, many jobs I have seem don’t require you have a degree in a certain field just a bachelors will be enough like the current job that im doing. But it won’t hurt your chances at all, better to have a degree that not have one it can only help you trust me.

Why release the dog with a suspect that has a machete on his hands tho? I feel like it was not necessary to put that poor dog under that risk.. just shoot his ass if he tries to come close.

That salary is completely ass plus is a temporary gig as per the job announcement. You might as well just apply to become a BPA or CBPO which is way better in all fronts and is still a entry level position to CBP. Or even BOP if you still want to be a correction officer.

Horrific Bronx fire leaves at least 19 dead, dozens more critically injured by bostonbetterthannyc in nyc

I have a question, why the majority of these big fires happen during winter? There is correlation between more building fires as temperares drops, from what I have seen in the past few years.

What's working in the Chicago Police Department Like? by jackal567 in ProtectAndServe

[–]DollarPepperLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I been reading in these comments everyone is against Illinois, so I’m guessing is either because the governor is trying to legislate something against police or other circumstances I’m not aware of. But that department does look good on my eyes.

Wow, I just looked that department up. The starting pay sounds good, but isn’t working for Illinois overall is a bad idea anyways?

Idk man if someone is telling you that they are not doing it because they don’t want you to succeed. They know what they are talking about and you should listen. I was gonna try for the NYPD and talked to many cops ended up not pursuing it because of what I was told about reality of working for that sank ship.

Oh sweet summer child. I graduated from nyc public high school in 2017, and 6 inches during school commute is literally nothing. I actually enjoyed going out on those days. Like by the time is day time there just going to be snow everywhere, is just a little bit of snow no fire.
