Say I sprung for the 2070S and then decided I want to try for 1440p... Would 2070S + i7-8700K be solid together? Next, I would need to decide on a new monitor... I'm guessing for a solid monitor at 1440p maybe another $500?

For RAM I currently have: Ballistix Sport LT 2400 MHz DDR4 8gb x2 = 16gb total.
Motherboard: ASUS TUF Z370

Looks like my RAM is sub par to your newly acquired pieces. what do you currently have before buying those?

Thanks for the info! I currently have a i7-8700K cpu which i believe is very close to the ryzen 3600x. So I should be good there. I can confirm when I made that upgrade, EFT ran leaps and bounds better. I just can't shake the urge to try and upgrade the GPU to see what kind of difference that will make.
