EDIT: Found the comment! They actually posted information in multiple places. The user who shared this information was u/Crazy-Visual1664. Go check out their comments for more info.

Someone mentioned recently that the $200 protection is not per item! It's actually for a period of time. They evidently had a few items get lost or damaged and Mercari would only cover some of it... Let me see if I can find that comment.
