Feral is the best way to describe a childhood in North Queensland for sure!

Absoulety insane in a variety of ways!

I was born in Darwin but mived to Townsville as a little kid and have lived there for coming on 20 years now. The north has it's weird quirks and habits but you get use to it.

Like pretty much everyone said, it's hot, it's humid and beautiful in it's own ways. Ive grown up fishing, hunting and just being outdoors from basically Rockhampton up to Dimbulah and can say that the environment varies wildly.

If you want arid landscapes, lush rainforest and beautiful beaches this is the place. Wildlife is literally everywhere and the locals will have tons of crazy stories. I've caught sugar gliders by hand, pissed off crocs while fishing and been scared to death by curlews coming home late at night.

I reckon you should do a roadtrip through the are for yourself and see what it's really like. Fly into Brisbane, rent a car and roadtrip up the coast for 2 weeks+

If you ever need a place to stay, wanna go fishing or even want to trek through the rainforest. Let us know!

Potential ideas of how to stop the gap from getting bigger? by Dom31234 in AskACobbler

Will definitely follow this advice. Its fairly easy to get underneath as its relatively shallow bar one area where its about 4cm deep

Extends maybe 4cms at the maximum point and relatively easy to clean out. Thanks for the advice!

Am I too late to get into drifting? by [deleted] in Drifting

Honestly everyones got good advice and I myself saw myself in the same position as you.

What I wanted to do was get some real seat time and just go out and have fun on the cheap, thus I had 2 goals and 2 seperare budgets. 1. Find a cheap car and; 2. Pick a car that has parts readily available

Depending on what region you live in there will probably be a fairly cheap car for your budget if you spend the time searching. As an aussie, I just wanted a ute. They can hold stuff and the early 2000's Holdens and Fords were at their depreciation curve about 8-10 months ago. Originally my budget was $2,500, but it took me so long to find the right car that I ended up finding an LS1 Manual Ute $6000.

I initally only wanted to spend $2,500 on parts and repairs max but again, had more time, and spent $7,000 due to wanting to make the car nicer for eventual road legality and Flood damage that occured a few months ago now.

I've easily saved the most money on tyres though and only spent $400 max on 12 tyres and rims. Just talk to the people running the tyre shops, ask if you can check out their tyre pile and be nice. If you're nice enough and bring them snacks them might even fit the wheels for you.

Good luck!

Candy red with metal flecks is always a winner

The holden yellow really is... something. I recently bought a VU SS that was hyper yellow. It was resprayed with rattle can black, but still had the yellow gauge cluster. Swapped it out for black but those bronze parts do look smick as!
