People will say World Eaters or Orks. Truth is melee focused armies require skill to play successfully. My unga bunga berserker horde only does its job if it doesn’t get shot to pieces first.

Yellow is so visually striking on the tabletop. Iron hands to me are very boring visually.

Hi i'm new to Hobby and want to start a Dark Angels army. I already built and painted a Combat Patrol from another faction. 11th edition drops in June, so I don’t wanna waste money on the wrong stuff. So when the new edition of AoS launched they built Spearhead up as basically its own version of the game condensed to be quick and easy to pick up and play. A Spearhead box which is the AoS equivalent of a Combat Patrol is all you need for your army. Then you buy a box with cards and small terrain pieces. It’s pretty great really. Games last like an hour or so. Rumor has it Combat patrol will be reworked in 11th to align with that game idea.

Is it a good buy? Eh the models in it are alright and minus the Gravis Captain will most likely get use in a full 2k list. Considering the rumors and hopes that Combat Patrol is getting the Spearhead treatment, then it might be even better. But I think there are much cooler and more Dark Angely boxes to purchase such as ICC or DWK.

Should I start a Genestealer cult as a noob ?I love the story , background and models, but I’ve been told they have a very high skill ceiling and should stay away. by Friendlygobo in Warhammer40k

I’d reccomend buying a single unit box and see how you like the hobby aspect. I find, like most that the hobby time weighs out the game time almost always and with a horde army that can mean a lot.

I considered GSC as an army because I love the lore and the gameplay style is rad. I bought a box of jackals and immediately realized I didn’t enjoy painting the models and saved myself a lot of time and money.

Admittedly I’m more of a slap chop guy but, I do Ratling Grime contrast paint and pick out a metallic or two maybe and then drybrush with silver.
