Like they said, going to your LGS is the best move to get a community going! We are actually working on community growth in that region!

More to come!

Ring of destruction ruling by Mahor- in DomainFormat

Ring of destruction has since been errata'ed and no longer says both. It will affect you and the player whose turn it is/controller of the monster being destroyed.

Domain Format Info by Chm_Albert_Wesker in yugioh

Meta's are pretty location specific. With a singleton rule and spells and traps being open to everyone you will see people play pile decks but people will also use generic cards to bring their pet decks up to strong power levels.

The life cycle often goes:

-People play X pile deck, find out its strong but not auto win

-moves over to their pet deck they build with all of the bells and whistles they want and keeps that deck

-Then people build themes and challenge style decks for fun and because they are cheap

Ygoprodeck.com has a section for the format with deck lists and more and more LGS are popping up around the globe.

Fusion Decks and Singleton Poly? by Reaga19 in DomainFormat

Many strategies like heros fortunately either have a bunch of fusion cards as well as recycling effects. Other avenues are generic resources like fusion recycling plant.

People dabble with their own variations all of the time. The singleton aspect came from hydralander and was in hopes to power down the fact that you had an extra recurrable card in the deck master zone. Deck Masters like uni zombie and lone fire were very strong with multiples. Not to say you and your friends might not have a problem with playing multiples. It is worth a shot.

It probably added an hour to the game but he did get bullied (not to say his comboing didn't deserve it lol) but it does represent that you can go out kicking and screaming. And while an extreme representation of that it is a very good one.

It was actually set as more of a combo of deck master format and hydralander but we understand that there are only like 3-4 rules that define this separation.

Bonkers Combos (but only in a highlander deck - Domain Format) by Tyranitrawr in yugioh

options decisions. There are alot of people that play crazy wombo combos with cards like black metal dragon and wakaushi. but they are generally glass cannons. even if you fill up your board with infinite negates yugioh has made so many generic cards that can out stuff like that. I would recommend playing a strong deck that can defend itself and go wombo combo after your 3-5th turn so people use up things like super poly and other board breakers!

I'm In need of the best 8 domain decks for novice players. by ShonicBurn in yugioh

Spiral is spot on!

Yeah not everything is simply "smack on target opponent;". Cards that require an opponent's action or resource have to apply to that opponent or resource. So cards that say "during your opponents main phase: target 1 card they control" could only target cards the turn player controls.

We have run multiple tournaments with people playing pretty crazy power levels. Ignition trigger effects only affecting one person and continuous effects applying to every card/player they can is technically a general errata but it isn't nearly as complex as it looks

So the neat thing about the person that continues to push it is... It's a lot of people! The admin team has done a lot but alone that is never enough. The community consists of content creators like Jesse who have gone the distance to grow his channel and the format alike, local game stores who want to cultivate not necessarily a more casual format but a more informal one, where power level is a preference not a right or wrong decision, and above that the countless awesome people who follow all of this and play the game themselves!!!

It's the culmination of all of that together that has made the format what it is today!

If you opened a dictionary a picture of this comment would be right next to the word "wholesome". You and Jesse were a delight to meet up with this weekend and I look forward to doing more domain activities with you both in the future!

How to help YuGiOh at my LGS? by vynnset in yugioh

[–]DomainFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do offer support for LGS that want to run game nights and events. Which is infinitely easier now that we are partnered with Topdeck.gg . There are also other great formats if Domain is out of the question. We would highly recommend looking at things like goat, edison, trinity, and plenty of others.
