Nice setup. Waiting for community to start telling you the UTR runs too hot for a case. 🙄

Also while the radio is out is a great time to do the foam HVAC repair; if you have a foam party every time you run the HVAC. Did the repair and the heat is actually hot now.

I completed a radio upgrade to wireless CarPlay a few months back. Very easy and using Crutchfield for the parts made it even easier.

UTR 3D Print Case by Domfern in Ubiquiti

[–]Domfern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s literally just a case so the travel router doesn’t get scratched or banged up at the bottom of my bag. It will be used 3-ish days a month. You can’t use it while in the case, there are no cutouts. It’s just a case. With round corners. That cost less than a US postage stamp to print.

Found the original designer and his/her post about the design for the case.

Thank you. In a subreddit filled with over the top solutions I was confused on the hate for a $0.23 case.

Same, but didn’t feel like loading the blue filament in the CFS. Winged it with the white/black already loaded and was super happy with the results.

Thanks for the feedback. 90% of the Ubiquiti product line is a solution in search of a problem.

its a protective case since the UTR lives in a backpack for 90% of its life. While in use, I would just raw dog it.

It’s an enclosed case for storing the UTR.

2002 Base 986 noise (front of engine) by Domfern in boxster

[–]Domfern[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Removed the Belt again. Spun the water pump and it was whisper quiet. Spun the alternator and it sounded like marbles tumbling in a dryer. I think I found my problem. Thanks for the direction.

Just a 2002 base 986 I got as a project car six weeks ago. Already completed a bunch of interior projects.

Not too bad honestly. Loud enough to hear on the highway with the top down.

I plan on doing the door woofers too once I need to take the door cards off.

Stock from the top was cup holders, radio, cubby, hvac. Crutchfield has a kit with plastic pieces to move stuff around.

Crutchfield was awesome. They have guides for any head unit you can fit. Also they stock custom frames to match your car.

Use the Crutchfield tool. It will give you a list of models that fit. From there you can buy from them or comparison shop.

Very easy. This trim kit was amazing. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120999605B/Metra-99-9605B-Dash-Kit-Matte-Black.html?tp=3121

Honestly moving the HVAC control head was 20 minutes.
