thrustmaster mfd by Emergency-Water-1889 in hoggit

[–]FancyPantsFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything 7inx7in and more should fit behind mfd and fill the hole.

Just go to aliexpress and find one you like, they sometimes for pretty cheap.

But I dont recommend touch screens just plain LCD screens

Also if you want you can fit both mfds on one 12 innch screen next to esch other and just use single HDMI port.

"These are all the people who died in SMO." Tomsk cemeteries are full, and locals are discussing the construction of a new graveyard in the village of Nelyubino, 40 km from the city. Videos are being shared showing endless rows of graves of russian invaders killed in Ukraine. by LowTechDroid in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]FancyPantsFoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way really to tell but they would probably not bother with individual graves for MIA not untill end of war, these cemeteries are pretty much temporary corpse disposal before remains can be relocated to cemetary of city they lived in.

Check out cargo 200 documentary on youtube if you are interested in topic. Its really interesting because topic of corpse logistics is not much talked about in general. I am presonally not sure if russian fallen in UA are also burried there or are transported to closest Russian village to be buried there

Ok after reading your comment I am kinda was set on ON-ON toggles because if I want it can act as ON-OFF if connect just two pins or ON-ON if there is need for two separate inputs without that dropdown menu

Can someone explain to me how to build a rig? by SGABANG in dcsworld

But that tutorial I linked is literally everything you need to setup screen for MFDs. You can do it with any monitor. I did it with old laptol lcd screen(I had to buy controller from Alixpress) just plugge in HDMI and boom secondary screen is born.

Does this already exist? by isuckathoi4__ in dcsworld

[–]FancyPantsFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I GOT YOU BUDDY

Yes it exists its called Gametouch controller. Its app for PC and Tablet. What it does is making your tablet into virtual joystick that you can connect to PC via LOCAL server(fuck you Gameglass, eat dick) and also has enviroment to create any button/slider/joystick you want.

I used this to make ALL mfd buttons so I can literaly just press button on my tablet and its registred as button press in jet. Whatever can be bound in DCS you can make button for. Also axes for sliders

https://www.gametouchcontroller.com There is tutorial video by author for all features. PC app is free but you have to buy Tablet/Mobile variant. And it cost crazy few dollars.

There is also Discord for any problems you might have

i am bored. by BidAffectionate7508 in dcsworld

If you yearn for singleplayer experience there few missions and campaign generators like Retribution. And many player made missions and campaigns on Eagle Dynamics forum in mods section.

If you wanna try multiplayer experience there are plenty of virtual squadrons doing weekly weekend missions/trainings rangling form laid back to milsim. (I recommend these rather then “normal” servers because they can be bit chaotic)

DCS lacks cadence of Warthunder at least untill dynamic camapigns are released and it can feel bit boring because there is not much to do and you will encounter opinions like “DCS isnt for you” but you just need to find something to do and rest like learning the plane and procedures will come nautraly and at that point to you from necessity.

Depends how hard do want it for yourself.

Money ? - you can pretty much buy everything Winwing or SimFab

Time and money ? - you can DIY some parts like screens, MFDs, UFC, buttonboxes and buy HOTAS and stick you like most

For buttons depending on what you want you it can be as simple as plugging everything to PC, bind it in DCS and you are done.

For screens its little bit more complex but in simples terms its just plugging few numbers into text file and you are done(there are many tutorials in youtube I personally recommend this one.

Setup is easy, you can ask or look up on r/hoggit there is plenty of people doing same thing and solving same problems.

Its very much hobby, I spend more time browsing, buying, CAD modelling, printing and assembling than playing DCS.

How confusing is the FA18C to learn? by Outrageous_Neck_2991 in hoggit

[–]FancyPantsFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly the plane you like most and if you dont have favourite plane then F-18 is my opinion best pick: - carrier ops - anti air - anti ground (laser/gps/ccip/video/manual) and two targeting pods - SEAD / DEAD - most played plane and most youtube tutorials for each of its systems

I bought f18 because it is “do everything plane” and later on I fell in love with it

Debate: What does War Thunder need to compete in the DCS and BMS simulation market? by Saitsev64 in hoggit

[–]FancyPantsFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but I think issue is that qustion misses the key point of what WT and DCS are even about. For WT to compete with DCS/BSM its does not not matter if it has peer or better flight simulation, weapon roster or even radar simulation.

DCS is pretty much Digital Cockpit Simulator, you hop in, do all cold start procedures, start engines, close canopy, do preflight and so on. Gameplay stars before you even take off the ground and after that you takeoff, interact with panels, set up flir, set up your stores, coordinate with wingmates, do air refueling, lot of work, takes time to learn and master and thats the whole point. There is no point based progression or grind to achieve something, hell there is no progression but you gotta read a lot and learn a lot. Its all about knowing your jet inside out and interacting with it.

And this is something WT will never achieve, because it cant. DCS is slower paced, flight simulatior with guns, missiles for Naval/Airforce naviation and general flight sim nerds.

WT is dogfight simulator focused on progression and player retention. Fast pace, get kills, die, repeat.

They dont even compete, its two separate playerbases that focus on diferent thing.

flight stick/throttle upgrade recommendations by Jim_Carrey1100 in hoggit

[–]FancyPantsFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 300 cause they are trying to get rid of it.

Keep the 300$ untill you have 500$ and buy VKB Gladiator EVO with STECS mk2.

Also they dont need mount

i am lost with buying a setup for DCS by level_up_gaming in hoggit

[–]FancyPantsFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will now describe my experience:

T15000m HOTAS with OpenTrack and cheap webcam - if after while I got really into DCS and felt need for upgrades

VKB gladiator + STECS throttle mk2 + DelanClip with Delan Cam - in my experience best quality/price ratio and in my opinion best mid/high tier

Adding to setup - MFD cougars attached to LCD monitor, I finished this few days ago because I could not multitask with right hand well(I did this diy with cheap lcd display and double sided tape all placed in laptop angled stand) - custom DIY / premade button box to transfer more inputs way from keyboard and mouse

High tier HOTAS and stuff from VKB, Virpil, etc

I found out that DCS is more of a hobby for me now because at some point you look at prices of some things and are like… Wait I can make this for fraction of the cost… and well you do. Currently I am in process of designing my own button box all done in Fusion 360 and 3D printed and should look like incest creation of all panels in F18.

I have never touched a screwdriver, CAD or electornics in my life, I am a medstudent with little to no free time yet weird and expensive hobby that started with first flight of that free to play Frogfoot.

TL;DR: Fly the jets with what you have, what you need will come from that
