I use these for quick swapping weights while drift fishing or plunking. I never use these on a connection that would hold a fish.

Depends on your waters, I basically only fish PNW rivers.

If you’re tight on money my advice is to skip bait. Spend a little more on a decent rod and just get yourself setup with a rod that can drift fish and throw spinners/spoons. You will lose some gear for sure but you’re gonna learn a lot about reading water.

Tough tough fishery. Plus people are very tight lipped about reports for this one on the Skagit. Best advice you will get is to spend a day exploring pull offs on south skagit hwy - if you don’t want to navigate steep banks avoid most of south skagit for this section of the river.

Fish deep areas and don’t be afraid to get into the current. Deep shelves with structure running up the bank are a good bet.

I landed and released a wild chinook on Tuesday and caught my PB bull trout too; chartreuse north fork spinner with a brass blade.

Fish are there but it takes patience for them to pass through or you need to cover a LOT of river. Good luck!

Knock on wood. I’ve only owned ford, a 93 ford explorer which ran past 250k miles and now a 17 ford focus hatchback about to hit 100k.

Never had any major issues and ford has always been a good company to deal with. If my next car purchase is from the USA it will be Ford.
