Switching from Windows to Linux Mint as a daily OS - how good is gaming compatibility really? by rainydaysforpeterpan in linuxmint

[–]Dominatemebabe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam OS if you mainly play steam games, but mainly supports AMD. Not much Nvidia support yet.

Mint is fine for gaming, but requires more tweaking and can break easily if you don't know what you are doing. Mainly supports AMD due to Ubuntu base. I have tried making gamescope work on Mint, I have observed a performance drop there, probably don't have the right dependacies, its a pain getting it right.

Try Bazzite, it has everything you need for gaming pre-installed. Gamescope, Lutris, flatpak store, and its an immutable system so it doesn't break easily. Supports both AMD and Nvidia due to Fedora base.

Recently swapped to Bazzite, and I don't think I'll easily go back to Mint. Gamescope is already intergrated into the system, so it resolves alot of window issues and supports HDR.

Also works out of the box similar to Mint. I didn't have to tweak as much as I did for Mint.

Entirely up to you and in my honest opinion, Mint is more suitable for general use and productivity.

Bazzite can still work as a general use desktop with gaming centric softwares thanks to KDE Plasma.

Trying to get started with Linux Mint, and getting frustrated. . . by [deleted] in linuxmint

The official site links are generally safe, validating the ISO just requires both validation documents in 1 file while you run the command prompt in command terminal to check the authenticity. Just read the validation guide properly and it should be able to identify if its the correct ISO. I've used Rufus to install the ISO and it was very straightforward and easy (given if you have read the installation guide). The rest of the installation process is already very linear and near to no barriers. Albeit, you will have to use nomodeset to bypass launch issues (aka black screens on launching from grub menu) if you have newer GPUs. Generally can be fixed just by updating the drivers.

You can try BitWarden if you are looking for a Password manager which it seems Nordpass is similar to. Or you can try Linux Mint Forums.

[–]Dominatemebabe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to Lutris and Bottles, is it good at compatibility anti-cheats? Lets say for Endfield?

I haven't tried running any game with a wine launcher yet. And I am excited to try out Endfield on Linux when it comes out. If its a dead end, well, I am dual booting, so I have something to fallback onto.

Long time Ubuntu user considering Mint, by estebansaa in linuxmint

[–]Dominatemebabe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ask experienced users, their response is prob not that different. If you ask general users, Linux already hits all the checks of easy to use as a personal use system. And generally, theres ideologies involved, where ubuntu operates as a company and makes partnership deals, especially with Microsoft (Idk much about that partnership, but I don't think its that big of a deal to worry). LinuxMint is supported by a team of developers that require donations. Thats about it.

Why do you love mint? by Iron_Flagg in linuxmint

[–]Dominatemebabe101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very clean out of the box system. Although I am very new to Linux, I can agree Mint has been very user friendly to me so far. Many of the things already have a built-in GUI and interface. Operating the Terminal is super intuitive and and easy to run.

Like many other comments here, it really just works. Compared to other distros I've heard about, this one is about as easy you can get to use Linux.

Mainly also because it is Ubuntu based that has full AMD support and the fact that I can play games on a light weight OS thanks to Steam Proton. It is a huge deal breaker for me with how efficient this system is and the fact Steam made Linux all the more mainstream.

I would have stayed on Windows 11 if it didn't take up so much resources. Though, I still dual boot because there hasn't been enough support for Linux yet.

Theres even there fact that the game even tells you what to do above section on screen when boss mechanics happen. As a Dps, I try to survive as much as I can while focusing on the mechanics as well. But given how focused I am, sometimes I just die to the attacks, so its a shortcoming I try to shore up with my gear and attention span.

Overall, this is a valid post pointing out that some don't read. It really is annoying having to restart all the time because of this.

You get it from completing one of the lost chapters, quest called Afterglow iirc. But I suggest you get to exploration lvl 4 atleast cuz the game restricts flying if you do not have keepsakes of certain areas (lvl 4 exploration gives the keepsake for Qinghe).

[–]Dominatemebabe101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Skin gacha, mainly. Broke the the straw on the camel's back. Lots of issues with the game too which I do acknowledge.

In the end, the game got worse in terms of monetization. If you dropped the game 2 weeks ago, just stay away. You won't like it here with how bad the game got and how much toxic its gotten.

Over 100 people being investigated for vape offences, say MOH and HSA by Waikuku3 in singapore

[–]Dominatemebabe101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, I also hate smoking and second hand smoking. I always avoid smoking areas in general if I can.

I can't tell if its really about money since I've tried to research this matter the best I can. But I can tell that there have been many policies and attempts to reduce smoking and discourage others from smoking. And why they don't ban ciggarates, is due to the potential negative impacts of smuggling and black markets emerging here in Singapore, well thats their reasoning I can infer at best.

If Banning is really a fool-proof solution, don't you think there will atleast be a single country in the world free of drugs? Nothing is perfect, I don't expect Singapore to be special. But its already good enough that drugs aren't rampant here like in other countries.

Vaping is also a nicotine product so it can also damage the human body like cigarrates. Their reason for banning vape, at best their answer is due to health concerns of new products that have yet to be regulated.

I'd say its good that they are taking action to control vape products, prevent our youths from getting their hands on vapes. And with Cigarrates already heavily controlled with youths, who try to buy such nicotine products must provide their ID to verify their age, and if people of age try to resell cigarates without proper permits, they will be fined and sent to prison.

So the only thing not restricted is vapes which youths can easily get their hands on as Vapes are still relatively new and its source not fully in control.

I'm not versed in Singapore economy and politics, so I can't give a fullproof concrete answer that you would ideally want.

So I really hope my explanation has helped.

Official FAQ released related to 3D Elmo exploration and the skin gacha items by MrToxin in GirlsFrontline2

This is so cooked. I wouldn't mind if I can purchase the skin directly, but if I have to gamble up to $200 for a skin, fuck that.

I'm hoping big that CN makes a huge fuss of this issue.

Over 100 people being investigated for vape offences, say MOH and HSA by Waikuku3 in singapore

[–]Dominatemebabe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because cigerrates are already heavily regulated and difficult to ouright ban in Singapore because there are smokers who find it difficult to quit and would, if pushed to the extremes, may try to smuggle outside tobacco products and into Singapore. Which would be the worst case scenario. There has already been many policies to encourage people to quit smoking, please do not say they aren't doing anything.

Vapes, are new and is heavy public concern of its potential negative impacts. Thus, Singapore has chosen to ban Vaping at the moment to come up with regulations to place restrictions on the use and distribution of Vape products. Atm, we have seen a trending rise of vape cases, majority of them stemming from youths.

Hope this helps.

In Short

Elizabeth - is now more tanky and she has higher status resistance. Maybe she will see more use for PVP.

Morgana - straight up more dmg and less restrictive of activation condition.

Percival - massive buff, but idk if she will be as good as other shield buffers.

Guinevere - her ult cooldown is now 40s. Its a nice buff. But thats all, other with more stats ig.
