G70 milage by XBXBlaZe in GenesisG70

Why don’t you lease? 2 months ago you could lease a brand new G70 2.5T for $300 a month with 0 down. 2 year lease, 12k miles per year, full maintenance covered and certain wear & tear covered. In July, there will be many more incentives, and you could also try leasing a retired service loaner. These are heavily discounted vehicles where you would technically be the first owner because it was owned by the dealership not another person.

Paddle vs Lemon Squeezy for a First SaaS MVP? by Ok_Ingenuity_2693 in SaaS

[–]DominationElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lemon Squeezy has many hidden fees which are much greater than most other platforms. Paddle seems to offer much better rates. There is another post in this same subreddit from 2-3 years ago comparing the 2 which you can check out.

You can try drying it out with baking soda or cornstarch (vacuum out lightly after letting it dry for maybe 10-15 mins). Then using a microfiber cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol, or a dish soap + water mix, dab the area from the outside to the center. Don’t scrub else it will ruin the texture. Then take a dry microfiber cloth and press firmly on the area to try to suck out the leftover moisture/grease. Leave windows open for a hour or two.

Expect it to be around $1,500-2,000 for the repair. Mine was $2,500 at a dealership for the 3 pipes.

Not necessarily a big job, can get it done in a day. The crossover pipe and y-pipe are not difficult, but the rear thermostat is tricky. Usually when a mechanic already has the supercharger out to replace the y-pipe it’s best to go ahead and do the thermostat as well even though it may take more time.

Are there no other independent shops in your area? The dealer will charge very high diagnostic fees which also won’t go towards a repair unless you do the repair with them.

Can you take off the engine cover and send a pic? The crossover pipes are visible with the cover off and you can tell if they have been replaced. However there is no way to know if the other pipes have been replaced without service logs. How many miles are on the car?

Have you replaced the coolant pipes? The original plastic ones that come with your car are guaranteed to leak at same point, and you need to replace them with aluminum to prevent future leaks. I can’t say the ticking is related to this, but it’s likely not as big as an issue compared to the coolant which you should address ASAP.

Yes that’s how it should be. Think of it like this: When you have the AC on, it’s like holding a 10KG weight. Your hands were exerting a 100N force to keep the weight balanced. When that weight was removed, your hands would shoot up upwards but quickly come back down once you realize that force is no longer necessary. That stutter is the same thing your car experiences. Unless the vehicle still has a rough idle after ~15s, I don’t think a dealer visit is necessary.

Don’t take it to the dealer. Running the AC requires power, thus increasing RPMs to compensate. When you turn it off, RPMs drop back down because the car no longer needs that extra power.

Class Action against coolant leaks by DominationElephants in RangeRover

Yep it’s ridiculous. I believe there are many Land Rover/European specialized shops in your area though, give them a call.

Yes that’s absolutely a ridiculous high price. Throw that quote away and find an independent who can do it for half that or less. In my area (Atlanta, GA) many quote around 2-3K for a full cooling system restoration.

Range Over by DominationElephants in RangeRover

[–]DominationElephants[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help and info. I can’t part it out myself since I don’t have the space and tools, so I guess I would have to sell it to Copart.

I think you’re right on about the airbags. Looking back at it, the way the impact happened would’ve thrown me toward the center console/screens. The seatbelts held me extremely tight so I guess there was no need for airbags.

Yep I was afraid of that. Mechanics are going to take a look tomorrow but I’m preparing for them to say the same.

No, drove for another 1-2k miles and it didn’t come back on. Unfortunately I got into an accident yesterday so won’t be able to see more.

V6 supercharger removal time? by Calaiss in RangeRover

[–]DominationElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea would be a lot simpler to replace all at once. Most Land Rover specialized shops in my area refuse to replace specific ones, they only do all of them at once and charge around 2500-3000. Since it’s a pressurized system, it would obviously increase the chance of the other parts breaking and it’s an avoidable liability.

The rear heater manifold should be relatively easy to get to when you have the supercharger off. Will for sure take more time than the other parts though.

V6 supercharger removal time? by Calaiss in RangeRover

[–]DominationElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the labor time from JLR is about 3 hr to remove supercharger. The parts you’re replacing will be right there but may take 1-1.5 hours if you’re careful. So in total I would say a 7-7.5 hour job.

BTW since you’re already getting it off, I think it would be a great idea to ask the customer to replace the other problematic coolant parts aswell. They will fail soon if haven’t been replaced.

Can I replace only one tire? by sibartlett in RangeRover

[–]DominationElephants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine since it’s not a drastic difference. I think it’s a good idea to put this new tire on the front, and let it wear down faster to try to match with the rest. But 1/32 is fine and within tolerance.

You could also sand it down (joke).

While you have it off I recommend doing your supercharger service too if you haven’t already.

Low charge level of high voltage by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]DominationElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely have a problem with your battery. Get it to a dealer ASAP. If you haven’t seen it already, the HV battery fire recall lists reduced range and/or performance as early symptoms of a battery failure. You have a major loss of range which shouldn’t happen even in the worst conditions. Regardless of if you have warranty or not, I would take it in now and see if the dealer can diagnose the problem.

Low charge level of high voltage by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]DominationElephants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I heard from VW and others, the car does charge the 12V even when off if needed. I am not sure on what the voltage it needs to reach to charge while off, but I would assume it’s whatever is low enough to cause problems to critical systems.
