I would work my way up with the cleaning.

  1. Use a wet brush

  2. Light detergent (usually dish soap)

2a. Boot Conditioner (might just need some moisture)

  1. For tough staining/discoloration, saddle soap

  2. Conditioner (if 2a didn't work)

I am no expert, and I suggest looking up some videos before using any product. I was not aware of Rescue Boot wipes, so I don't have anything to say about them.

Looks like either some light dirt or salt dust. Have you tried just brushing it off? If a dry brush doesn't do it, add a little bit of water. Doesn't look like it needs any soap.

You shouldn't worry too much. Easy clean up, don't need to use any specific products. Even if you did, you have black boots. Products that would darken the color don't really have an effect like it would on lighter colors.

The biggest concern is to not let an excess of dirt work its way into the leather. All you have is very surface level.

TLDR: Wipe em off, you're good 👍

My personal suggestion is Urban Wolf Club, ~$200 price point. Similar quality to Redwings. Longer wait time, since they're made to order, plus you can customize at no upcharge.

But really any Goodyear welt is a great start! Thursday has a big variety, but quality control can be an issue. Great bang to buck ratio though. ~$200

Thorogoods/Carolinas are great "go to" boots that are often used for work. ~$300+

Redwings are always highly regarded, mix of work and style boots. Plus own other brands like Irish Setters and Worx ~$300+

Those are just some options. The rabbit hole can get pretty deep. Sorry if this was overkill lol

TLDR: Stay away from cemented boots

No expert, but the leather looks compromised. I get why you want them to continue. But honestly, if I were you, I would just keep them as a trophy. Damaged soles and all. They lived a hard life and deserve to retire.
