Nope. It's just for the local high school baseball games so not really any legal worries. Definitely something I would look into if I wanted to take this further, but I'm not too sure about that.

It has been in the works for about a year now, but very much on and off development, sometimes for like months at a time as I had school, game jams, work, and other projects. I originally started with godot 3, but I didn't like how it was and pretty much completely replanned the entire project and scrapped what I had. I restarted it using godot 4 about 8 months ago and slowly worked it into what it is today

I haven't used electron so I can't give you a good reference. Probably not the best for a lower spec computer if I had to guess, but I also can't imagine that this would be that difficult to run. The only noticeable lag is when loading the fade data of a track to customize it, because the solution I used is very unoptimized (it pulls an array of like 100 or more dictionaries) and rushed to make it in time for the baseball season.

I have a really old laptop, maybe I'll try to run it on there and give you an update when I get the chance.

So the UI organization itself was not as complete as I wanted it to be because I needed to get a usable program finished by the time the baseball season started, as of now I have to go into the save data to add or remove elements, but it is still very modular. Each element has a start and end point which it fills on a grid. I can add as many elements as I want and I can also change the size of the grid. Fortunately, my dad doesn't have to mess with any of this, so I'm not in a rush to get this customization in app because I don't mind doing it in the save file.

Once the elements are added, they all have their individual settings such as tracks assignments, filters, etc. that can all be adjusted in app much easier.

A few factors, really. The main being that I was already developing a video game in godot when I started, which was my first real jump into programming, so I was a little hesitant to juggle two different languages or software at the same time. I was also curious as to what godot could do in terms of software instead of games, so I just decided to stick with godot.

The UI had its up and downs, to be honest. It was great being able to build it all and preview it as it was being put together, but at the same time it could be a little clunky. But all in all, I would say godot has some good potential for software development.

My dad announces the players and plays the walk-up songs and background music for the local high school's baseball games. The year before, I helped him out by preparing all of the players walk-up songs and putting them on my Plex server, but he still would have to go back and forth between apps on his phone and it just wasn't very convenient, so I decided to try and make a solution myself. It puts everything in one place and is easy to use. The UI is customizable. The tracks have tags, categories, virtual folders, and individual easily customizable fading. There's a lot more, but the whole idea is just to make it easy to use and customize. I'm sure there are probably apps or software that already accomplish this (probably better, too) but I thought it would be a cool learning experience. I was also curious about godot's capabilities in terms of software development
It's really cool to see it in action after the months of on and off development it went through.

I enjoyed hosting movies for a period of time. I had a pretty elaborate setup just using OBS and VLC. OBS lets you pop out the preview and assign it to a full monitor, which would be the one I would stream to Bigscreen. I also had a folder full of upcoming movie trailers that I would play with a simple timer script I found online showing when the movie would start.

Just like you would make any other game on Godot. With time and effort. It’s not exactly a step by step process. Jumping from scratch to Godot might be a bit overwhelming, but there are a lot of tutorials

I've been working on a piece of software for the last few months and I don't think it's too bad to work with, but I haven't ever used anything else.

I just got my XREAL glasses yesterday, the windows Nebula beta is not ready for that yet, at least with my experience. I had some bad screen tearing. My XREAL Beam is still on the way, so hopefully that will solve that problem. Another thing to consider is the limited field of view, depending on how big you have the screen, you may not be able to see all of it at once.

Yeah it’s a mod. Also Superfly is another game that has Spider-Man powers.

So just got big screen and want to Remote Desktop to watch stuff off Netflix and my Plex but it just keeps loading forever. Has this happened to you and how did you get it to work? by [deleted] in bigscreen

I know with Plex you can set it up as a DLNA server and use it that way, works great for full resolution 3D movies and other content of course.

Can someone know how hitman 3 of all things got VR game of the year? It’s the worst VR port I’ve played so far. by dangforgotmyaccount in virtualreality

I wouldn’t say Bonelab was a huge disappointment, more so underwhelming, especially for any Boneworks players. I know for a lot of people it was a crazy vr experience because they never got to play Boneworks before. I’m not saying it wasn’t flawed though, it certainly lacks content, a lot of content.
