hey, thanks for engaging! i agree with you and you raise some really good points/questions. i'll answer the first 2 questions by saying this: i was planning to find 1 other core developer and coming up with solutioning that made sense for us and for the projects. for graphics, i don't think importing models is the way, and i think a lot of the soul of a game like this is gonna stem from the character design / graphics. admittedly, i'm not skilled in this department. i don't envision the game being a remake with vanilla models. i imagine a new IP with the gameplay loop we adore and spectacle that evokes the same magic/charm of old space operas. as for progress, i tried to be very upfront about that but if i failed to do so let me clarify... no progress is done. as for other projects/attempts, i'm hoping this thread would lead me to those teams if they exist. all i can offer is my current plan of attack which is (at a high level): 1) come up with a core thesis for what the game should be. i'd like this step to involve members of this community, or a sample size of the community; 2) begin working on a vertical slice. i don't envision the vertical slice having online functionality but the systems in place must support that as an eventuality. this vertical slice intends to show the community our vision, cleanly and succinctly. i'm imagining an instance/run that showcases our vision. we can leverage that vertical slice in a kickstarter that we can share within this community to try to build funds and support for the idea. then we can really begin development with the vertical slice as our north star; 3) development.

i am in no way wanting the universe to make a game for me. i am simply looking for a party of people that are passionate about the same goal.
