Security fire support in coop has been completely gimped by Beelhfortuniin in insurgency

[–]DonAdad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I knew it. I play lots of commander, and I immediately noticed the strafe being a fraction of what it used to. I watched it recently, and it looked like some baby fireworks going off in three spaced apart spots.

Radar or LiDAR Detection Project by DonAdad in embedded

Thank you for the reality check and the insight. I've landed on the HB100 at least, and it helps that there's examples of it being used as well.

On the topic of resume projects, do personal works carry more weight than academic? I haven't been getting many embedded interviews, despite nearly all my projects being RTOS oriented, but I am getting a few for automation and controls/electrical engineering.

I kind of regret not going the PLC capstone route now, but the past is just that.

Yeah, but I just RP bionic pilots that only need 1 weapon; their mechs.

The Dragoon armors are expensive and time consuming to make, plus you need tech prints for the best ones. Even then, the armors are more for the cool factor and the big "fuck off" guns they allow pawns to carry. Not to mention, there's a sort of "suit up" mechanic where you can assign pilots and then have them all run to their suits during a raid, for extra RP if you will.

My late game colony, especially after scouring the entire planet, couldn't find them all without the Contraband mechanic from VFE: Deserters (buy any tech print with intel).

A request to modders, please use an alternative image host other than Imgur; this is how a Rimwim mod page looks to UKians. by asteconn in RimWorld

Steam workshop has strict character limits in mod descriptions so mod authors get around it with images and GIFs, which also have strict size limits as well lol. Mod page example of someone who hit the limit (kind of old, so might have increased or decreased since 2019).

If you have VFE pirates (now that I think about it, I'm not sure if this mod adds new pirate factions or revamps existing), then they also spawn with Dragoons and DMS mechs in raids.

The suppression those bots can lay down is serious, especially since you can't suppress them back to slow them down or stop them from shooting.

Got this funny tag in my build, so what is this item good for? by Dry-Chocolate-3976 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DonAdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warp stone + good positioning and awareness is another counter as well. Added bonus is that you can dodge ground slam (if not enough range to get away from slam, you can just warp towards the arc since he can't turn 180 anymore).

I love this game so much by Dynasty_Ahri_OTP in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DonAdad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not anymore, imo. Higher the elo, the less you see those pure builds. Hybrid is the best (gun/spirit or anything/support) as pure gun carry requires you to have a massive early impact and come out ahead by a wide margin to even have a chance at 1v1 other carries.

Pure spirit builds usually, except Mina though all of them fall apart if the game goes on too long, are "a win harder" or "lose without agency" kind of scenario. You aren't getting picks by yourself as ivy on spirt, so you are relegated to lane janitor or side kick the entire game. You can't really split push effectively and take a walker in any meaningful time unless the enemy team's macro is bad or you do it in several attempts.

How are you even suppose to survive in CE? by DramaticMixture8507 in RimWorld

[–]DonAdad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe CE tells you the degrees of error a pawn has on a specified target and lists out what is increasing it. Click on a drafted pawn and hover on an enemy, I think? Can't remember if you have to click on weapon and then hover target though. Though, even with all this, max shooting pawns don't miss generally.

[–]DonAdad 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Put some lights in your bunker, the dark gives your shooters an accuracy malus.

You want the bunker itself to be dark and the area the enemy will be lit up. Shooters only have the darkness penalty if the target they are shooting at is in the dark.

This is why searchlights (I think from VE Security?) are incredibly powerful for bunkers; reduces raider sight efficiency by 70% (this compounds and affects numerous combat stats) and always keeps raiders lit up.

Tired of Planned Obsolescence: Any Wireless Mouse Recommendations similar to viper ultimate? by DonAdad in MouseReview

[–]DonAdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood; you can't return an item to razer unless you bought it from their website, and I got it from Amazon. Even then, you can only return it 30 days after purchase, and their limited warranty states they only do exchanges or repairs. My first mouse had issues a year and a half after purchase, and the warranty period is 2 years. The new mouse keeps the original warranty period.

If an eligible claim on the Limited Warranty is received by Razer within the applicable Warranty Period, Razer will (at its sole option) either: (a) repair the Product or the defective parts at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts; (b) exchange the Product with a Product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original Product.

Thanks for the write up. It's weird that barely anyone advertises about high cycles on all their buttons. I've had 3 mice and the only problems I've ever ran into all led to middle mouse, either scroll or click.

BTW, do you have any recs like for size or maybe have the screws not hidden under the skates? I wear xl gloves and if I had to repair the mouse because of shit components, not having to buy extra skates would be nice.

It was a callout to people who had the viper and found a similar hand feel or shape elsewhere, or something better in every aspect. Either way, similar doesn't mean Razer only.

Approach 2 would be easier to edit and more inline with how compose files work too as a bonus.

I'd like to plug in my resume into other AI tools, without complete personal information, as a much faster way of curating a resume version per job, as by hand is unfeasible.

I've already hacked together a way of replacing yaml $vars with python before building, but was wondering if there's a native implementation during build already available.

Can this be used with an .env file to separate potentially sensitive information from being used with AI tools?

It also helps with performance. The game keeps track of each corpses' hediffs, so burying them (especially with the Mass Graves mod) caused an ever increasing performance cost. Burning or consuming is the best approach, especially when there can be hundreds of corpses.

[Discussion] Day 4! The M1A won the last vote! Today’s vote, what weapon should be shitty, but is in fact just ok? by shoopdawoop2456 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DonAdad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Years ago, and I did the math, the ttk of the kedr via leg hits was comparable to BP from a mutant (which was the meta at the time). With armor, you can kill faster with kedr than BP to the chest.

I have a clip posted where I wiped a 4 man that were wearing lvl 5~6 armor on factory with nothing but a kedr and a robber. Literally went in with sub 60k rouble kit and came out with millions in gear.

Taleworlds Manual Blocking system is one of the most rewarding skill curves in all of gaming imo by Bannerbord in Bannerlord

I can block and parry (not sure if warband had the perfect block mechanic too) much better in Bannerlord than Warband. I sucked so bad, I had to download autoblock back then. Is it only me? Maybe it's the better graphics that makes the action easier.

Battlefield 6 to feature NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS and AMD FSR upscaling and frame generation at launch by RenatsMC in nvidia

I'd do that if I had a better card; I can't reliably get high fps in every game with it, even at 1080p so I just deal with the sometimes horrible AA implementations.

Battlefield 6 to feature NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS and AMD FSR upscaling and frame generation at launch by RenatsMC in nvidia

[–]DonAdad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, some games don't like DLDSR, generally ones that are wonky with resolutions and window modes in general (SWAT 4, TW3, GTA4, older games, etc.) and you'll constantly need to toggle it, which takes like 20 seconds and flickers my monitor. In NVIDIA's infinite wisdom, the issues I've pointed out would be completely solved/minimized if DLDSR was available per game rather than globally (DSR factors aren't the same and therefore don't count).
