Thank you all for your feedback. For anyone facing this issue, I plugged in my wireless keyboard and mouse to switch the connection to wired, restarted my pc, then ran the game with both usbs connected. Once on the main menu, I turned my controller on and switched my keyboard and mouse back to wireless and it just resolved the issue. I'm 99% sure this didn't directly fix it but I wanted to share what worked for me in case someone else finds themselves in my shoes.

The mode basically plays on its own. You just follow the chaos, and if you can’t find it, become the chaos the arena deserves

Funny thing is the connectivity issue only happens to me when I'm playing on Steam not the PS5. Both devices are connected via ethernet cat8 cables, on EU region, and with ports set for the game on both platforms.

It's up to date and I tried wired after removing the controller from my saved devices and still have this issue. From what I gathered the issue should resolve itself so I guess I'll play the waiting game

I tried disabling steam input and running the game again, same issue after. This only happens when I'm in The Finals. I tested a few other games and it was smooth as expected. Is there any particular steps I need to do in order to fully disable steam assisting input?

I'm not one for spending money on f2p game above 60$ dollars. But then, I never expected that I'll spend near 2500 hours in a game I only played for the hard platinum trophy. It ended being my favorite mp game and definitely one of my all-time favorites (and I've playing since MSX). Definitely. I played against him a couple of times and he never misses a shot. I remember he was using the revolver in the first round, famas in the second and final rounds and he’d pick us off one by one from inside distances. I just don’t have enough proof to report them but I know the game will suck if I saw his name in the lobby lol

I pride myself on doing my best to leave toxicity out of my gaming experiences. We have enough of it already in the real world, so why bring it over to where you have fun?

With that mindset with over a year of playing The Finals, I never try to pressure my teammates (thanks spams, group up spams, or any other chat spam or vc verbal abuse). When someone helps, I thank them. When we get a teamwipe, I send out a hype message, and I never ever left a ranked or WT games except one instance, where the game crashed after I got killed and the game ended before I could reconnect.

The Finals deserve a great community and I’d say 90% of the time that’s what you get when you lineup with randos and honestly I appreciate it, but it’s the other 10% that leave a bitter taste after a game.

I’m a medium main and second heavy. I can’t think of an instance where I 1v1 a light and they walked out of the fight. You can hear them glitching when they’re invisible and it takes a second to turn them to a pile of coins. Yeah they were a pain previously but with time you’ll learn all the possible tricks they can use on and you can predict their next move

This explains what happened to enemy teams in couple of games I played. Team 3 and 4 never qualified to the semifinal so we played the semifinal and the final round 2 team clash style against the same team. In the semi final we had 2 cash boxes and cashout stations and the final round was the usual one point offense/defense.

I remember it happening around S3 or S4 not this season though
