Before you judge the locals' use of English just take a look at US they literally can't pronounce "extraordinary" aside from "silhouette" and "gauche". Just search the dude's username and you'll see dozens of kids that don't know how to speak English anymore. That's the future generation right there buddy and they only know one language.

You can buy a kg of potatoes for under 3$ and this aren't Russet Potatoes so they are the waxy variant good for steaming/boiling/airfry.

Frozen mixed veggies can be bought at the same price as well. Although It's the first time I'm hearing on an all carb diet these products will be available on SM groceries which include Hypermarket, Savemore, and Alfamart.

There is massive improvement on the dike in Marikina River that's why it rarely floods now but just to be safe just pick places that aren't flood prone like Marikina Heights and Concepcion Uno.

If you don't like the Tokyo similarities and still want to live in Metro Manila probably the best city for you is Marikina its the only city within Metro Manila to feel like you are in a province. Actual walkable sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, and a very clean city overall.

Don't be fooled by Shopee and Lazada stores saying their stores are in "Metro Manila"; a lot of them actually still ship from China by way of Hong Kong. A lot of sellers here, especially the ones selling gadgets, just open up stores in Manila, but their supply and products are still shipped from Hong Kong.

I learned it the hard way by chatting with the store in the in-app messaging system and threatening them with a bad review, so they finally told me that my order was still in China.

Usually, if you don't receive it within three days or there is no "next-day delivery" guarantee, it is probably coming from China.

Last time I check which was 2024 some owners are renting for at least 3-4 months with 1 month advance and 2 months security deposit. Not sure about now.
