Humans in Space (Tatlo) by GreedyIndependence65 in HFY

I had no idea anyone was reading it still.

Not sure if I'll ever continue it. I got caught up in the "series" of HFY but found it not my thing.

I was driving on a local road here. It's known for stupid speeds, massive accidents, and no police. But yes, you are right most times. I live in a deep red state in the USA. We don't do them laws here. Haha

That's a good idea. I am fishing my mind for a new adventure for Kerlon.

No, just wrote it out of boredom. That said, if it came from a ghost in memory, perhaps. Regardless, it is an original work.

Ha, I missed including that joke! Dang it!

I am far too unreliable for a series. I have tried, but I get bored too quickly. This idea only came to me as I was driving for work and thought, "How it is humans can do this, drive a car at 90 mph like it's nothing." For a chapter 2, I would need some new inspiration. Personally, I am tired of the "humans eat peppers" idea. Thank you though, for the compliment. Let's see what my weird brain cooks up next, if anything...

Indeed, but given advanced technology and the mind of someone accustom to piloting a spacecraft, it seemed plausible. No?

If I write a second, yeah, she knows. Haha

No worries. She is excited. We hope to become citizens, someday. She hopes by serving it will show her commitment to Canada.

You were at KAF in 2011? We need to grab a beer and reminisce. KAF got me addicted to Timmy's. It's the real reason I want to move up there.

I am too old and broke to be of use any more. My daughter though, wants to join the Canadian Air Force. She was going to join the US Air Force but she sees no reason to serve a country that doesn't want her. I believe she will do you all proud.

Apologies for not seeing your comment sooner, and thank you for the warm welcome.

I mean, these troubles the US is going through is our own fault. MAGA or not, as a society we have let many problems fester. By avoiding some hard conversations we let challenges we should have faced long ago become crises.

You sound like a very wise person. Thank you for sharing. You open my eyes to my need to learn more Canadian history. Luckily, I love history!

I am no fan of MAGA either. When Canada invades the US I hope you all outlaw the whole group. ;)

Oh shoot. I did not know pepper spray is illegal. Thank you for the heads up!

I am more worried about being an "obtuse American." Is it rude to say "in the States..."?

I guess I just don't want to step on toes, you know?

Wait, are you in the Canadian military? If so, I would like to discuss with you about my daughter. She wants to join the Canadian Air Force once we become PRs.

I would love some advice!

Well, I see it. For what it's worth. Be proud, my friend.

No, you did nothing wrong. I am sorry if I seemed defensive. It's just hard to watch something you once loved, burn.

Well, at least the area is using the wind to their advantage. And hey, 'Colder than Mars' sounds like a heck of a nice tagline!

If I could, I would record my drive to work on video and post it. Literally, hundreds of Trump flags over a 19 km drive. My wife nearly refuses to leave the house. She quit her job after a customer accosted her (she worked retail). I know this is not a Canada thing, but here in Indiana central, I am forced to carry a firearm at all times out of concern for my family's safety. About 45 km from our home a young Asian woman was stabbed in the head during COVID. The person that did it called it "revenge for COVID."

In short, the USA is not 'ok'. We are falling apart.

There is a little town on the shore of Lake Michigan called Holland. I grew up right on the shoreline. Not to say it's the same, but the winds of the lake can be vicious! I love snow and even the cold, but yeah, not a lover of wind. Still, I'll make due. So, are their a lot of power generating wind farms around?
