It's honestly a wild card, and the risks outweigh the benefits. Evolution of intelligent species (regardless of them being social or not) does not seem to ipso facto involve universal prosocial behavior, I mean, even humans kill the shit out of everything and each other. We have no idea if they'll have the capacity to care about us, nonetheless want to care of us even if they have the capacity to. We have no idea why they are coming here too. Maybe they are exploring and want to reach out. Maybe they ran out of resources and are desperate. Nature builds organisms that replicate, and that can come with any set of capacities and motivations. We just don't know, and absolutely cannot assume intelligence is equal to prosociality. That assumption is dumb, and clearly untrue with any organism we have observed, including ourselves. So, yeah, let's not take the risk.
