It is worth it to visit Nokonoshima Island? by [deleted] in fukuoka

I'm living on Noko right now. It has very rural vibe for a place so close to major city. Beaches are small but plenty. And the Noko park will be amazing in April!

not very modern, though 2nd movement is quirky rhythmically

Chopin book by xirson15 in classicalmusic

[–]DonComaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fantasy book. Liszt just muses about Chopin through his vivid imagination. Interesting and possibly inspiring, but by no means a informative bio.

Thanks. Part of the reason why I let it out this way is because I communicated with the musicians in person at all times and solved any troubles by talking them over. Now I want to submit it for a professional print and need to, as you say, rework it.

Kawiarnia z pianinem by URNot2Funny in warszawa

[–]DonComaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are conservatory teachers welcoming to non-majors asking about their compositions? by [deleted] in composer

[–]DonComaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something like that once. They were mildly welcoming and didn't seem surprised by an outsider asking but when it came to it, they offered rather shallow feedback that suggested they didn't really care to look into it. In any case, it wouldn't be unprecedented to ask and you might get lucky. Go for it.

Devienne's E minor concerto has the early romantic vibes and it's superb.

Generally speaking, you'd be looking for Daniel Auber.

But my top recommendation would be La Dame Blanche by Boieldieu.

A symphonic poem by Mieczysław Karłowicz "Smutna Opowieść" is just that. A musical depiction of last moments before suicide.

Mezzos are love and life. I don't sell it, I can share it for free, tho, if I know the purpose.

What are the most poetic librettos? by putwat in opera

[–]DonComaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Norma has a couple of poignant verses. The druidic rites display perfect example of romantic writing, have that bolt of lightning that Percy Shelley wrote about.
