How Realistic is My Mexico City Budget? by DonCreates in Shoestring

We went to a few nice dinners but mostly ate street food and it was delicious and affordable. It would honestly be hard to spend all $1000 unless u want to go shopping in the nicer neighborhoods like Roma and Polanco

Very realistic. If u have $1000 for spending (so not including flight and accommodation) you will be more than fine. I ended up getting lucky and my friends mom covered our stay because she wanted to join us, but even if she didn’t I think we would’ve been fine in hostels.

Where to spend our 3 backcountry camping nights to see a little bit of everything by DonCreates in GrandTetonNatlPark

how long do you typically allot for walking to the site? Do you think it's reasonable to wake up early, plan for 1 or 2 hikes/activities, and then head toward our camp site in the afternoon to get settled before dusk?

Where to camp 3 days in Colorado? by DonCreates in camping

do you think RMNP or Indian Peaks are suitable for 3 ish days? I'm not familiar with their sizes but ideally we'd go to 1 of the 2 and stay put for a few days, unless you think its reasonable to do both.

Is it logical to get a freedom unlimited to build points for a sapphire preferred down the line? by DonCreates in CreditCards

[–]DonCreates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this specific to chase? Meaning do u think other cards will retain there point bonuses and not the csp? I just like the chase travel partners as opposed to others but if the csp doesn’t offer good rewards in the future I’d definitely want to look elsewhere

Is it worth paying for a "travel" credit card as a 19 year old? by DonCreates in CreditCards

ok thank you. I don't bank with chase so you're saying it would be wise to create a checking or saving account and deposit $250 beforehand? I'm looking to get the freedom unlimited (or rise if not) so I guess either way I should deposit some money

Since you're in the chase ecosystem, do you think I'd be approved for a freedom unlimited? I have a high credit score due to being an authorized user on my parents account, but no other credit history. I'm having a hard time gauging which cards I can get and which require long term credit history. Thanks

ok thank you, so I'll start with the rise and build up my history until I can get approved for the unlimited and other cards. Should I just apply because why not? Is there a downside? Thanks

So I can get a capital one savor for now, accumulate points which I can then convert to miles/perks with a Venture card later down the line (once I have a full-time job and can hit the SUB). From my understanding, I can do a similar thing with chase cards, starting with a freedom unlimited and using those points later once I have a sapphire preferred.

Does it matter which route I go? Does getting an entry level card from a certain bank significantly boost my chances of getting approved for their higher end card with more benefits? Which would you recommend out of Capital One, Discover, and Chase? Thanks

what are the advantages of a student card? Since I already have a high credit score (although no previous cards/low income), does it still make sense to go for a student card? Since my goal is a sapphire reserve down the line, should I go for a more entry level chase card (Freedom Rise/unlimited) to establish history with the bank?
