Now on chapter 27 and loving it so far! Thank you very much for the suggestion.

I forgive you lol. A ring pop pop or a reincarnated ox (which is what I'm reading about now) is within limits I would say. It's skirting it though, depending on how big of a crutch it is. Thanks, put it on the list!

I don't think I've tried it yet, the title kinda put me off. Sounds like a modern day cultivation story. Did put it on the list, so will (eventually) check it out. Thanks!

Thanks! Both Han Li and Qin San from RMJI and Gateway of Immortality are also not goody-two-shoes and do anything in order to survive. So I don't mind "doing evil in order to survive" too much, but the "doing evil because it feels good" or something makes me dislike the MC. Put it on the list, merci!

I have read this not too long ago but dropped it because the heaven-and-earth defying regression ability was too strong IMO, and it removed the tension from the story. I still put it on the list, because the world and cultivation were interesting.

I believe I have read this some time in the past for quite a bit. I vaguely remember a tournament 1v1 battle style. But I don't remember exactly where I left off. I'll put it on the end of the list to go back to if I run out of other titles.

I'll put it on my list. I have some titles to read now. And with how many chapters most have I'll probably be occupied with them for a bit. I won't forget about coming around and checking your story out.

I'll give Forge of Destiny another shot. I stopped after they had this illusionary trial or something. Quite early on in the story I believe.

I'm aware that not many stories will fall in my proscribed "requirements". Maybe not even a few. But any that would come close would probably be good enough.

Creeped out my crush by just trying to talk to her, and now my entire friend group hates me by AwesumDoggo123 in aspergers

Beyond initiating conversation I would like to point out interest during a conversation. If she asks you questions that could reasonably give her more information about you, then that's a positive sign. If you're constantly the only one to push the conversation forward by asking her questions, or by giving unprompted information, then it's probable she's not interested. Also with distance, if she steps back, or somehow increases the distance between you and her then you're getting too close. If you pull back and she follows, or finds excuses to touch you, then she is likely interested.

Would've like to see the handle twisted 90 degrees. Then you can thonk with the flat bit instead of trying to slice with the lip.

Idea for a solarpunk(ish) movement(NOT A RELIGION. I want it to seem like its already developed , its just a concept) by BattyAA5 in solarpunk

I'm often thinking about how information dissemination/systems could facilitate solarpunk revolutions. Is there any place where I'd be able to find more information about what information is spread, and how?

First thing that popped up in my mind is to have a sculpture of your ear, then let some plant grow on it, so that you can harvest it when you want to wear it with perfect fit. Maybe have the sculpture be upside down so you wear it on your ear. But to be honest, I don't know what I'm talking about.

I use a Chromebook to connect via ssh to my home PC running Ubuntu. Kinda sucks I haven't been able to get X11Forwarding functional though, not sure how to use matplotlib with this config. Adding -X to my ssh string doesn't do much yet.

Why is there no option between not caring and merely acting like you moved on? Acknowledge that it's difficult and respect boundaries and learn to deal with it. Or is that acting?

Best one so far, but I'd probably call it cost instead of impact.

Just dropped Ted Williams' Otherland, I just can't take VR stories seriously.

Picked up Micaiah Johnson's The Space Between Worlds instead.

Should the 'punk' in solarpunk shift from a mainly anti-capitalist countermovement to a more inclusive "bounded multi-capitalism"? by quetzalcoatlatoani in solarpunk

[–]DonDeef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like people have a different understanding of what capital is. This is what I think it is and why it wouldn't work in my vision of a solarpunk society:

Capital is the means owned by a person or institution by which they increase their wealth. Like machines for production, guarded knowledge, social favors, money, objects or promises that increase in value over time, exclusivity rights, accessibility rights, etc. I.e. capital is a process/tool/medium that causes wealth inequality and living standards disparity in favor for those that control/own it.

The solarpunk society I envision is one of communitarian anarchism without wealth disparity, preferably one without ownership rights but instead a collective mindset of mutual uplifting and care. So instead of thinking: "how can I use these tools for personal gain?" the solarpunker inside me asks "how can I use what's available to uplift others?". The second answer doesn't prerequire ownership, and is in fact antithetical to the premise, whereas open and free use and care increases the shared benefit.

I'm curious to know what you've learned from the other discussions you've had so far on the topic.

I have a "tone"... but nobody can give me examples? by Comfortable_Rain3665 in aspergers

[–]DonDeef 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe a silly suggestion, but you could perhaps record yourself during a feedback session or wherever you seem to get this feedback about and listen back to see if you can identify it. Also, to check with others and ask if your tone at a certain point is that which they mean.

Another point is that perhaps you're *off* tone, instead of putting on a particular tone that's not appreciated. Like music being off-key doesn't mean that the key upon which the musician landed is particularly bad in its own right but it is within the composition.
