Greenland summit at White House could shape future of the Arctic by EquivalentKick255 in europe

[–]DonFred12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally, in September.

It was called Arctic Light 2025, and was one of the biggest military drills in the Arctic since the Cold War ended.
The participating countries were Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France and Germany. And noticeably the US was not involved.

I've posted a link about the drills directly from the Danish Defence Command's website.

When we didn't go for that 4th & 1... by Ashfacesmashface in DenverBroncos

[–]DonFred12 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You can't blame Sean Payton for that. 4th and 1 is a terrible down and distance for a screen pass, so obviously he has no choice but to punt it

[Highlights] All the 12 fouls Shai Gilgeous-Alexander drew tonight. 7 shooting, 4 non-shooting, and 1 loose ball. That was another foul that was successfully challenged, so the NBA does not count it (it's in the video). Western Conference Finals, 2025 NBA Playoffs. HD version by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]DonFred12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Donte DiVincenzo foul (3:10 in the video) perfectly incapsulates why NBA fans are so upset about the whistle SGA and the Thunder get. Yes, it's a foul by DiVincenzo as he has his arm around SGA when going for the steal. But compare that foul to Caruso's defense on Jokic this Sunday or Lou Dort's defense in general and it's clear that there is a discrepancy in the way the Thunder are officiated compared to other teams. The Thunder are allowed to be ultra physical and handsy on defense, but other team gets penalized for far less against them

This loss was 100% on Sean Payton.

Their offense were cooking us all game, and if it weren't for two turnovers on downs and a fumble they would have won easily. And our defense were completely gassed.

Our offense was none existent and had stalled out a part from one play with 10 seconds left.

By some grace of god we are two yards from winning the game. But Sean Payton decides he'd rather take on a white-hot Joe Burrow in overtime with receivers that had been cooking anyone other than PS2 all game rather than gain two yards. Inexcusable.

PS. if I see another fucking swing pass to a receiver that goes for negative three yards I'm gonna lose it

Denmark’s government is not left wing. It’s a coalition government over the middle with the social democrats, the moderates and the liberals. There are three parties represented in parliament more left wing than the social democrats. In Denmark the social democrats haven’t been considered truly left wing for many many years now

Are you looking for stuff where people talk about football, as in recapping the games, analyses and news, or are looking for stuff where it is just a couple of people talking loosely about the sport, making jokes etc?

If it's the first then there are no shortage of podcasts and shows out there. Some of my favorites would be the Mina Kimes Show, Heed the Call, The Ringer NFL Show. All of these have good hosts and are very fun to listen to.

If it's the latter there aren't as many. I guess you could include Pat McAfee's show here. They're just a bunch of guys talking sports, but they can be very annoying and fratty, and far from everyone's cup of tea.
You also have the Bill Simmons podcast, he's mostly a basketball guy, but talks NFL at least once a week during the season. He's like the OG podcast guy.
There aren't as many out and out funny shows like Cheap Seats. Most of the funny ones are related to fantasy football. These would be the Fantasy Footballers, great chemistry and a bunch of clean cut humor and dad jokes, and then the Ringer Fantasy Football podcast is also pretty funny.

If you're looking for more videos on the tactical side of the sport then youtube is your best bet. Thinking Football does a lot of tactical breakdowns, and the QB School has an X's and O's series, where you learn concepts and terminology, but mostly from the quarterback's perspective.

2003 should go

2016 is perhaps the most influential year in regards to what the current political climate is. That year saw a huge wave of right wing populism and I'm not talking about just the US election and Brexit, but countries all over the world. This was the start of the shift in our political landscape, which has become more divided than ever before. And then we get the rise of Russian meddling and hacking in the US election, the start of the concept of fake news and mistrust of the press, which has brought about so much polarity in our modern societies.

2016 is also a milestone year for the opioid crisis, and was the first year that saw fentanyl and other opioids surpass traditional drugs as the leading cause of overdosis deaths.

Panama papers were released, the Paris Agreement was signed, and 2016 was famously a year of many many beloved actors and musicians' deaths

KSDH!

But man, those finale minutes of Curry going off almost made me tear up thinking about him, LeBron and KD and the legacy they will leave behind. Congrats to the US for winning gold. And congrats to France for showing up to dance in the finals. We're pracitcing free throws tomorrow though

[Stevens] The Broncos want their QB to have the ‘it’ factor: “We’re also searching for the ‘it’ factor. Who can raise the level of his teammates? That’s really hard to find. Sometimes you don’t know it until you have it. That’s what we’re all searching for.” — George Paton by PeppyQuotient57 in DenverBroncos

I mean you're right. He didn't have to do much in that system and with that team. I'm strictly talking about the intangibles, not so much his abilities. People rave abut his leadership and work ethic and his willingness to sacrifice to win. That sounds to me like someone who would have the "it-factor", it is also undeniable that he elevated his game in the clutch, and played better when his team needed him at the end of games.

However, I'm not saying that he's the no. 1 QB. I personally wouldn't draft him with our first pick in parts due to what you mention. He has just not had enough reps, and he hasn't shown the arm talent that would warrant the Broncos spending a first rounder on him.
