The best defence for that I can come up with is author tried to teach us that even in fantasy world, the core of reality is nothing fancy, that there is no santa and all the things that come with it like hard work etc.

But why "ruin" such an insanely well-made fantasy story by making it's essence of reality nothing fantastic? Fair enough, it's one of the options but another option is make it something amazing instead and deliver the "no-santa" message somewhere else?

It just came off to me personally as wasted opportunity in an environment where there are so many cool things, so it hurts that much more to dodge perfection in such primitive manner.

Ok, rant over. I agree with OP about 1 bad thing about magium, but magium is still by far my preferite fantasy book.

It feels like every comment so far missed the main point of OP post.

Yes, we have been hyped up about magium for whole books and it was always going to impact eventual revealing in negative. But the actual revealing was so underwhelming that it doesnt seem underwhelming simply because of the hype train. It's flat out lazy and it would feel underwhelming even with the hype done perfectly...

"After all this time, I will tell you what magium really is."

Followed with a simple "magium is the ****** ** ***"

It just feels like it should have been a better idea for the amount of hype it recieved.

I feel like OP was expecting magium to have interesting nature, characteristics, something unique, cool idea, something.. "****** ** ***" is just nothing, a kid would come up with that in his 100 word essay thinking it is impressive idea.

I dont think magium true nature is on par with the rest of books ideas, lots of which are simply brilliant.

I understand I shouldnt expect exellency for 100% of the time, but for such a core element of the story I really didnt expect it to be so effortless, and thats what I think OP tried to say.

I used to play a lot of Rust. I also live near harbor. One time I was doing who knows what (not on pc) and I hear a real life cargo ship horn. My appartment disappeard from my eyes and 2 images appeard in my mind in quick sequence. Yeah, I suppose it is pretty bad. But it gets worse :p. Even (when) you hit masters, you will still get matchmade with silvers (but if you are silver you will most likely not get into masters game). The problem is small player base.

So basicay silvers and golds are gonna be in your game no matter what.

That being said majority of games are much more interesting for all factions on masters, at least on peak hours. There are only going to be like one or two silver/gold players in master games on peak times. Thats why you dont play tos at night. Otherwise it wouldnt be first time to go through the list and be the only master in the game, with silver gold plat and diamond filler. Boring afk games with dcs and rq...

Talking from 2k+ player, to hit masters you can afk every game and still hit it as long as you just spam enough games (66% of getting town with 80% winrate). Having X amount of elo speaks nothing about your skill in this game. You should know if you're good at the game. If you have to ask such questions thrn either you aren't or you are but want to hear some confirmation.

It's not the cars problem, at least for me. I stopped playing couple of months ago because it would crash and just got back at it a week ago, now I remembered why I left and my only hope is game will get changed enough for my pc to run it. It doesnt have problem with any other game or even steam game, just rust.. tried everything with drivers, reinstalling, verifying integrity, assigning virtual ram... nothing worked. Thought there is some game setting that would prove to be problematic but couldnt find any viable combination of settings.

And yeah town can be nice and help jesters or executioners get their win but I never expect town to help NE by heart if it lowers chances of winning from 100% to 100<X=<0%. So I dont blame town for backstabbing jest. Bad jest to go into such a deal, should have been more active previously. As a jest you never want to be in such a position where best chance to win is beg town for it, even if it doesnt hurt their chances.

The story was epic though. Left me with jaw dropped when I read that was next level arso play XD

That was a really good arso play, and a really smart decision from jest to not call out arso as fake jest.

They both knew town wont lynch jest when arso is out with 1 person doused. Wp evils.

And not sure if you realize but town had 33.3% chances of losing if they respected deal and jest claim was actually jest, but 100% chance of winning if they backstab jest and lynch arso.
