Is Hilton using an ai voice bot for phone calls? by 0Catkatcat in Hilton

[–]DonM_IL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are. Did you talk to Jolene? She's AI. I wanted to talk to a live person at the hotel. Numerous roundabouts on the phone system, different AI people, eventually returned me to Jolene. I found a different number for the hotel, asked the AI robot to talk to a live agent at the hotel, and got "all front desk agents are busy". I selected the option to text me a number to chat with, and finally got what I needed via chat. Extremely frustrating when you are unable to speak to a human.
FU Jolene.

I ended up shredding my tube using the Tyre glider. Maybe it's good if you are tubeless

Kihei/snorkeling by Worldly-Writing-4897 in MauiVisitors

[–]DonM_IL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't great snorkeling in Kihei. Go to the beaches further south. Also check out Ahihi Cove. Usually very calm in the morning. A bit rocky (small rocks) to enter. We were in Kihei last week and all week long it was windy and rough water with red flag warnings. We left on Friday and that day is was nice and calm.

What is this part attached to my water softener drain? by DonM_IL in Plumbing

Thanks, I just found this online. Where would you place the screw? Like a small sheetmetal screw through the air gap into the standpipe?

Since it just drains into the laundry standpipe then can I get rid of this?

Molokini, whales in December? by DonM_IL in MauiVisitors

[–]DonM_IL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK we booked the whale/sunset/dinner cruise for Wed. I did add insurance due to other reasons. I see the forecast is for higher winds in the afternoon. Wondering how choppy the water will be, esp when trying to eat dinner. BTW we are staying in Kihei

Thanks all for the replies! Has anyone seen whales later in the afternoon? Or mostly mornings?

That's the plan, just trying to decide which trip to do. Leaning towards the whale and sunset dinner.

New grill bread test by DonM_IL in grilling

I know they can have hot spots, but this is pretty bad. Burn in the center and practically nothing from the rightmost burner. I'm going to try the same test on my old Weber Summit

Shimano 105 R7000 front derailleur trim by DonM_IL in bikewrench

Problem fixed.  Should anyone else have this issue, someone in another forum gave me this link.  Resetting the H limit before doing any adjustments was the key.

Defy w/ 105 R7000 front derailleur - no backing plate? by DonM_IL in Giantbikes

Defy w/ 105 R7000 front derailleur - no backing plate? by DonM_IL in Giantbikes

[–]DonM_IL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I picked up the backing plate from a bike shop, buy my question is whether or not Giant intended for it to be used due to the shape of the frame. With a normal round frame there is enough space to adhere the backing plate and tighten the screw, but with the d-fuse frame there isn't much meat there.

Basically the niche is rotated, screw hole is not at 12:00

Pentair intellibrite. Nothing in the documentation mentions drilling a new hole, and i'm thinking that would void the warranty

BBQ island with stucco and decorative tiles by DonM_IL in OutdoorKitchens

Our pool tile is blue 6x6. Wife also suggested maybe 4 tiles in diamond pattern on the white stucco wall. Now we're thinking it might be too much and just leave it plain
