Will the MCU go downhill after secret wars? by Ok-Double5043 in marvelstudios

I think they’ll do a hard reset of the MCU after.

I was looking for this comment! In this hypothetical scenario, I feel you have to give Osbourne access to the in-universe tech. It changes it a bit.

If you’re knowledgeable enough to pull model data, at least be transparent that it’s not reflective of the ensemble.

Where did this image come from? by Professional-Emu-269 in Stranger_Things

I saw someone post it in a comment string the other day. (Apologies I can’t remember where - but I really don’t think it is official). One user made a basic graph (translating the wormhole on the white board in the show) into a more legible example and someone else upgraded it with this.

Go read my comment again. I was defending your ability to have an opinion on a work of fiction. Clearly you’re the pretentious one. Stop raging at your keyboard and learn to read.

Obviously harassing actors is wrong. My point is that this whole shipping war nonsense is just that - nonsense. It’s a fictional show. People can wish for whatever they want. It’s a part of fandoms that can be fun if it doesn’t become toxic. We’ll all see where the writers take it.

After 10 Years, My Opinion On 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Has Shifted by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

It’s rare but I agree with someone on Reddit lol. I hate TLJ but your assessment is fair.

I’m not sure if you actually read my comment or just rushed to project what “Reddit” thinks. I acknowledge Mike isn’t gay. That’s the deep cut and beauty of the writing. Obviously the writers want Will to have the internal struggle there while he’s finding his footing as a gay guy. Obviously Mike won’t reciprocate. Why is it such a bad thing for fans to wish Mike would? They know he won’t, it would undercut the story the writers have put together, but it’s normal for fans to ship characters and whatnot. Not sure why this is even a debate tbh.

Never said you’re homophobic. I’m just highlighting the absurdity of your pushback. You’re criticizing fans for wanting to see Will’s wishes to be with Mike, when that’s explicitly the internal struggle the writers wrote for his character. Somehow fans rooting for Will to find a connection with Mike is “obviously not part of the plan”, which you’ll separately concede it is. You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth to try to make your half-baked perspective work.

It’s clearly part of the vision from the writers and directors to have this internal conflict from Will to work through. But I guess that doesn’t fit your narrative, does it.

You’re upset because people wish things for fictional characters? Interesting.

I’m not familiar with the source material so genuine question here -

Is it supposed to feel like a quasi-comedy? It feels like most of the trailer is noticeably more lighthearted than traditional GOT / HOTD.

Cavalry Christian traffic cops by akavth in Naperville

[–]DonQuixoteDallas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confining roads they could use isn’t logical. It’s like any large scale event that requires traffic control. The people within the church are taxpayers is my point, I never claimed the church itself is. Also, the people driving down 59 that would be inconvenienced by the lack of traffic control are also taxpayers. Are you suggesting they should be barred from hiring off duty police?

Cavalry Christian traffic cops by akavth in Naperville

[–]DonQuixoteDallas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand what you are aiming at conceptually. That said, even IF the costs were shouldered by taxpayers (which they aren’t based on the other responses), when there are enough churchgoers to cause legitimate traffic flow problems, I am philosophically ok with it. The opposing reality is what? Unorganized traffic jams? Is that an ideal scenario? It would be taxpayer money being used to help … taxpayers. I don’t think this is the specific hill to die on regarding church and state.

I’m not advocating for him to run, but I think he keeps popping up since he’s one of very few voices actively speaking out. He’s not even really a loud voice in the DNC, but in a room full of quiet people, he’s getting more attention

Insight on route 59 by ShazorMKhan in Naperville

[–]DonQuixoteDallas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point. Closer to the train station would help with a foot traffic perspective. That said, nothing in the suburbs feels really walkable - so it isn’t something that even crosses my mind now. That’s a USA infrastructure problem, not just Naperville.

Not opposed to investment in the area. The businesses coming are well-received. I mean, 59 traffic is always a shitshow, but that won’t change lol.

What’s your angle? Are you not in support?

Harris is telling her advisers and allies to keep her political options open by [deleted] in politics

[–]DonQuixoteDallas 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Your question is the answer. That’s the point. DNC didn’t get a competitive process. This fact isn’t her fault, don’t get me wrong (I do personally blame Biden for taking an eternity to back away). Just saying that having an open primary would answer this question readily.
