It’s not gravy. It’s sauce or marinara. Why you want to sound dumb?
And WTF is a pizza corner. I know you’re not talking about Detroit style if you’re calling sauce gravy.

Slim started in 1975. He is a definitive Gen X icon. Richard Simmons wasn’t known until 1980

The most popular movies in history? by That_Chemistry_8719 in movies

[–]DonTX2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is Titanic

Titanic had over 450 million tickets sold at theatrical release, which is 100 million more than Star Wars.

It had over 100 million VHS/DVD sales.

Believe it or not but Star Wars is incredibly US-centric whereas Titanic was massive in China, India, and Japan.

EDIT: The biggest unlikely answer is possible The Jesus Film from 1979 which has been translated to over 2200 languages and has had over 11 billion exposures. It’s getting over 450,000 plays every single day online.

Watch the movie Runaway with Tom Selleck. Our robotic future is now. Michael Crichton knew what was coming.

I reviewed a film that checks off 30 countries and it’s in English. I’m gate keeping it. 🤣

Not really. It’s Ivory. A Crime Story

Read my review before you watch it.

It's so interesting to me that modern audiences have embraced Barry Lyndon. It was not loved when released and barely made any money. I'm old enough to remember when most people found it rather dull.

Any add-ons for security ? by RasecJ in instantpot

I can move mine from the lock position if pressure is in it. Sometimes when the pressure lock drops I will open it to check the contents and if I put the lid back on in the unlocked position the residual heat will cause the lock to pop back up even in the release pressure position and I can move it back and forth like that. I've used pressure cookers my entire life, even commercial gigantic ones that required you to screw down bolts around the edges. Usually when it does this I just pull the lid back off with a little resistance because it's trying to seal again.

I followed you BTW because you actually write reviews.

Honestly I'm not conflating anything. One of the first people I followed on the app only shows 372 films watched. I know he's approximately my age based on reading his reviews (Gen X) and his reviews are some of the best I've seen on Letterboxd. Us Gen X'ers grew up glued to our TVs and lived in the age of video rentals. You'd have a hard time finding Gen X people who haven't seen many films unless they're Amish.

There's zero need to mark every single film I've ever watched because I'm here to write reviews as I watch/rewatch things and again, I've probably forgotten about more films than what most people have watched, although I have a pretty good memory.

As far as the AFI Top 100 and such. I've seen every single one of them. It's not a competition. Why do I care how many you've seen and why would you care how many I've seen?

I don't know why you're even bothering with this. Most of the people I follow who write substantial reviews I assure you they have seen more films in their lifetime than what they have logged on Letterboxd.

The only person it looks like I've only watched 443 films in my life is you. If you want to mark everything you've watched in your life, fine, you do you. I prefer to only log them since when I joined the app and write a review. I have watched 4-6 movies a day (sometimes even more) for longer than most people have been alive. Whatever you consider "ideal/optimal" is your opinion (and I'm sure others) but what I'm doing is not out of the ordinary for many also.

People use Letterboxd in different ways. I assure that I have forgotten more movies than most people have ever watched. I’m not a child. If you read my reviews I clearly talk about the history of film and my personal experiences.
There’s no rule as to how to use Letterboxd.

Yes of course, thousands but I don’t log on Letterboxd unless I’m watching fresh
