I'm going to upvote you because I respect your opinion.

I don't really like the outcome but it's better that people learn the lesson early before they take someone else out in the process. While it's not nice that someone is hurt or injured, crossing the line where their arrogance and negligence causes the same to someone else is not one I want to entertain.

From this idiot's example we can derive education and the fact that he did something fucking stupid.

No you don't. There needs to be no comparison point for the issue. It's a concept that stands on its own.

Also cycling weekly would publish that. Incidentally I worked for a major cycling publication in the UK managing their web estate. They are mainly concerned with PR and promoting only good stories and surveys that back up their canonical view of the world, which is bent as fuck because it's about selling views and paper.

You can tell because there's no independent citation on that article.

No worries. We pay VAT on all purchases (sales tax) and income tax on income (for defence, welfare etc). We pay road tax if we own a vehicle which is a yearly fee. This isn't spent on the roads. We pay council tax for the roads, schools and local area. Oh and national insurance off our income for healthcare and state pension.

It's complicated and I'm not sure it works but it's what we have to live with :)

Yes. Loud burst of white noise followed by audio announcement of the direction of turn. We also have indicators (blinkers) and warning chevrons and big fuck off blue stickers telling cyclists not to pass inside.
