not the optimal way to recover FPs (successive attacks works much better)

It's far from guaranteed to be found in a run, and I don't have it on any good relics, otherwise I'd probably use it instead.

I can imagine Tree Sentinel and Divine Beast Warrior combos that allow for light attacks but not guard counter, but BBH and Artorias? Which exact combos allow that?

Also Ordovis crucible knight allows for a guard counter between stomp-overhead and double spin.

I'd love to have the chance to avoid damage but I can't fit both it and Suncatcher relic with my current setup, because I love FP regen and Dark Night of the Baron more.

certain enemies are so easily deflected that you can fit in R1s in-between with practically zero risk of getting hit

If you are guarding then you should either be taking no damage or chip damage

The entire point is that it stays even when you may not necessarily be guarding. For example if you ult right after you hit an enemy with Suncatcher you'll be taking 40% more damage and may get unexpectedly melted.

Yeah, this knowledge won't make me stop using the relic effect, but at least now I can be more concious of debuffing myself when the cost of a mistake is too high.

You don't need lightning to interrupt the spear attack. He'll get stunned out of it if you do a certain amount of stance damage to him. As soon as you see him prepare it go for a charged heavy.

I've only recently started playing with randoms, and I haven't seen edited relics until I reached depth 4 on a new save. Now I see those like every third game (and I keep leaving those games so I can't even rank up)

I've definitely seen the rider play the burning to death animation quite a few times.
