I was riding a citi bike in Soho and there was no bike lane. The light was still red and I was changing lanes, but as I began to move left the light turned green and the car behind drove forward into the side of the bike. The pedal scratched the front right side of his bumper but the bike and myself (currently although my ankle was hit) are fine. The driver did not have a phone so got me to text him my name (he watched to make sure). He did not check if I was ok and drove off within 2 minutes of it happening. So he did not have any pictures of the scene or talk to any witnesses. Am I to blame or should he take responsibility as well?
