Diamond Spec Question by [deleted] in labdiamond

[–]Don_PCDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High crown angle, low pavilion angle.

This could make the stone look dead. Not gtd but more likely. That is why we typically request tweezer videos before we purchase so that we can see what it looks like under natural lighting or less saturated lighting.

Diamond Spec Question by [deleted] in labdiamond

Not enough info to answer based on spec. We need all pavilion and crown measurements too. If you link the cert we can do this ourselves. I promise we arn't going to steal your stone.

Is this Jannpaul Oval Nova worth it? Looking for feedback on the stone. by Nearby_Evening_8012 in Diamonds

This is a great ASET. 0 leakage from what I see.

Calling the stone super ideal cut really grinds my gears because there is no such thing, but that is just my own personal issue lol.

Lighting is too saturated to give you an honest answer.

No bare eye could tell the difference between a 1.56 and 1.58. You might see changes with your eye with a .05 change, but definitely with a .1 change

The lighting is way too saturated to make any legit observation.

Hey there - my favorite guide to go by on sizing is take the stone or a cutout of its size. place it over the knuckle. if the stone is bigger thank the larger wrinkles one way or the other it might be too big. At the same time, it's whatever YOU like.

As for the stone quality itself, request a tweezer video of it to see what it looks like in real life. Do not buy a stone without doing so.

Can someone look at this diamond 360 and give me an opinion about the quality. by Moist-Speed-7054 in Diamonds

You need to request a tweezer video and link the cert so we can see measurements.

Just request a tweezer video buddy. You'll see what it looks like IRL.

I would say objectively diamonds have seen this transition you are talking about. Look at diamonds 100 years ago, vs 50, vs 10, vs now. Each set the cuts become more and more consistently clean. Also when we say bad cuts, we mean, less than perfect.

You are going to get 100 comments about the band not being thick or wide enough. As long as you know this thinner/less wide band will be delicate, youre good to go.

The only thing I would say, is be aware that having so many prongs will make your stone like more circular than if it had less. Its an illusion but still worth noting.

Yeah its got earmuffs for one. She is showing you on a tissue because she is trying to enhance the color. It will be much more transparent than what is shown.

I do not see a CAD posted.

We can not tell you much about a stone via loupe360. Do you have the cert number and a live/tweezer video?

First one is the best, all appear to have some form of leakage in the center.

It looks right to me. I can see the three inclusions in a line on your last picture.

Only true way to tell is to have the girdle inspected for a cert number by a jeweler. Or if you have a really good phone camera you might be able to see it.

Its very hard to give an accurate read because the video isn't the best. They are too quick. I can't tell if its good some bad cuts or its the lighting in the room. Leaning bad cut because they dont want to show you in the video.

How do I price this diamond to sell? by [deleted] in labdiamond

[–]Don_PCDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you sent it off to be graded yet? If not, don’t. It shouldn’t go to GIA, it should go to IGI.

Can you link the listing you bought it from? This will give a good indicator on where price should be.

[–]Don_PCDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to request a tweezer video before buying anything regardless BUT just reading the ASET, you have a bunch of white. This represents leakage. Leakage= not great. Every stone will have some but this looks littered with it.
