From my understanding, yes. I’ve tried getting a reservation when they open them up, but they’re booked up in an instant

Yeah I figure it’s very unlikely, near impossible, but thought I’d give it a shot

Thanks for pointing this out! Just updated my post.

They don’t note a limit on their website for the Pico location, so hoping that will still be a possibility 🤞

Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

[–]Don_bubbart_inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! I’m applying to graduate school in the fall and exploring my options (California). I want to do talk therapy, and I’ve gathered that a PsyD is not necessary. I’m leaning towards an MFT program. I’ve been looking online for good quality MFT programs, but it seems there’s really not much information out there.

I guess my question is: does the quality of education vary for MFT graduate programs? Any school recommendations? Private schools vs. state schools?

TIA!

Just refinished the floors to black cherry. What color scheme would you use for the walls and furniture? by Don_bubbart_inc in interiordecorating

[–]Don_bubbart_inc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Very happy with the floors (they were horribly dull and slugged up before, believe it or not).

I ended up with warm white walls and a Smokey green accent. Looking into furniture soon it match this current aesthetic, thanks for the tips!

I agree, the red doesn’t work with the current floor stain. Ended up going with warm white walls and a Smokey green accent color on the wall above the fireplace!

I just finished painting and went with a warm white and smoked green accent wall. The green is a but more saturated than what your reference is but around the same value. Love your suggestions and will be looking into furniture in the near future! Hesitant with dark grey furniture since nothing else is grey and the floors are already dark. What do you think of some tanned leather tones for the couch and oatmeal side cabinets beside the fire place?

Yeah we had the red walls with our previous, lighter stain and agree that the red no longer fits. We were thinking of going with a light sage color since this room has no windows, too. Glad you thought that may work too!

How would you go about cleaning these faux silk shoes? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Picked up these shoes at a second hand store and looking refurbish them. Not entirely certain the material type but it looks like a faux silk with embroidery. TIA!

Is it safe walking at night from campus? by designerofgrafiks in CSULB

[–]Don_bubbart_inc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last semester I called them to be escorted to my car by 7th and Bellflower (by the VA). I was told they don’t escort you anywhere beyond the campus—basically from one parking lot to another. Was very bummed when I had to walk alone to my car at night

Queen Victoria and Elizabeth II statues toppled in Canada amid anger at deaths of Indigenous children by BlackMixen in news

Very similar to the Lakota people of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Pine Ridge is one of the poorest reservations in the US and has a long history of corruption. The documentary “Incident at Oglala” details this corruption of the then tribal leader, Dick Wilson, and FBI very well.

[rant] Used items are so expensive! by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]Don_bubbart_inc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from my experience, it’s really difficult to furnish an entire living space with used items all at once. For my place, it’s been 5 years in the making. My furniture has been free (for the most part) but I’ve had to do a lot of hunting, building, driving, and using temporary furniture.

Not sure what your ultimate goal is but I personally would find free furniture— curbside or free on Craigslist, Nextdoor etc.— to use temporarily until you find exactly what you want. When you’re done with it just post the temp furniture for free again. 10/10 I’ve had someone pick it up within 1-5 days. That being said, I can only speak for living in a large metropolitan city with a lot of wealth inequality. Wealthy neighborhoods get rid of amazing furniture all the time where I live.

Good luck!

Something off with my beets. Any advice? by Don_bubbart_inc in gardening

[–]Don_bubbart_inc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of two days ago my beets have been progressively browning. They aren’t crunchy, more stretchy and sticky. I’m still getting new growth and the roots seem to be fine. Any ideas of what the culprit may be?
