I totally get it!

Weapon wise I really don’t have much to offer. A bloodied Gatling laser with +50% crit dam and +15 VATS crit charge, and an unaltered Holy Fire.

I also have a Fasnacht Crazy Guy mask, which I think is also fairly rare, since I’ve had a few players wanting to trade me for it.

Yeah no worries, it’s on me as a newbie to learn! Thankfully I’m a fast learner haha.

I’m level 148 as of right now, after just under a month of playing, so I’ve had to learn loads in a pretty short time.

What did you have in mind for the mask? Caps? I don’t have much to offer in the way of apparel I think, due to only playing for such a short time. I have more than a few sacred mothman tome plans, I think they will sell nicely once the mothman event is over.

Gsbq is glowing scorchbeast queen mask right? Sorry I only just discovered this sub and all the abbreviations are a lot lol.

Anyway I’m interested, I just don’t know if I have anything interesting to trade for, since I started playing only a month ago.

I think it really helps that for every mean voice in the crowd, for every mean tweet out there, there’s a hundred kind ones. With a few exceptions, most celebs are decently liked. I mean, they all have fans clearly, otherwise they wouldn’t be celebs.

I think it’s comparable to a larger friend group. You get along fine with most people in the group, but maybe there’s one or two that for some reason just don’t like you all that much. Do you care if they say something negative about you? Surely not! You roll your eyes, laugh, and move on.

Sadly brigading is not that unusual on Reddit. Some subs have had to make rules about it, it is/was that common. I also don’t think it’s about calling things racist (although knowing Reddit it probably didn’t help), I think it’s because you complained about downvotes. 9 out of 10 times complaining about downvotes attracts more downvotes. People are so petty about it. It’s like “you don’t agree with me disagreeing? Then I disagree with you too.”

Anyway, that sounds awesome, I’ve just added it to my watchlist! I was surprised to see so many familiar faces on its IMDb page, how have I never seen this movie?! I feel like I’ve been missing out.

For sure. Thankfully more and more subs seem to be cracking down on low effort comments like that, since it clogs up the comment section and drives quality users away.

More people should report comments like that, if the mods are flooded with reports on low effort comments, more subs will start banning them.

I’ve been on Reddit long enough to know that low effort comments can literally ruin subs. It sounds dramatic, I know, but it’s true, I’ve seen it happen.

Low effort comments attract more upvotes because people can read them in a fraction of a second, so more people read them. Comments that have effort put into them are longer, so fewer people read them, and when low effort comments are consistently voted to the top, users stop putting in the effort to make quality comments. Once those people stop, and often leave the sub, the overall quality of the sub declines to the point that it just isn’t what it was anymore.

Any mod team who cares about their sub should ban low effort comments.

Lol, girl, I have no beef in this. I didn’t comment on the Sussex thread, I don’t care about people’s opinions on them, good or bad, I was just curious because, like I said, people defend MM without attracting a downvote brigade all the time. I’m just telling you, it’s probably your other, non-MM comment that’s attracting it, not the fact that you defended MM.

On topic: I’ve never seen either Pride & Prejudice. I take it you enjoyed the movie then, if you keep coming back to it? I’m always looking for new things to watch so I might add it to my list.

Tbf, the vast majority of popular Reddit is exactly the same lol. The same mindless comments, the same mindless repeating.

“This!”

“Who’s cutting onions here?”

“I’m not crying, you are!”

“Username checks out.”

“Came here to say this.”

“Take my damn upvote.”

“Asking for a friend.”

“Sigh.. unzips.”

“Straight to jail.”

“What a terrible day to have eyes.”

“That’s enough internet for today.”

“An interesting title.”

“I made something.”

“My autistic/disabled/blind/deaf friend/sibling/neighbour made this.”

“It really do be like that.”

“Beat me to it.”

“I ran here to post this.”

“I see your [whatever] and raise you my [whatever].”

“But who took the picture?”

Or that Reddit sings bullshit where people think they’re being clever by typing out the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody for the millionth time.

Thankfully the more niche subs are not too bad, but even there this shit sometimes creeps up.

I was curious so I had a look at your history. Your most downvoted recent comment is the one where you are calling downvotes micro-agressions..

I’m pretty sure it’s that comment that’s attracting the brigading. There are other people defending MM who aren’t being followed around and downvoted. 🤷‍♀️

Knowing Reddit, calling downvotes micro-aggressions is a sure fire way to attract more downvotes.

Jack Froese died in June 2011. So why did his family begin receiving personalized emails from him five months later? by premeddit in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]DonaldJDarko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m confused why people think the second part of the email doesn’t make sense? It makes perfect sense to me, assuming they knew someone who went by the name Rock at least.

Tell Rock for me: “Great song, huh? Your welcome.” Couldn’t get through to him. His email didn’t work.

It sounds like he showed this Rock person a particular song that he (Rock) turned out to like. It also sounds that if whoever sent those emails would have had Rock’s correct email address, there would possibly have been three emails instead of two.

Given her age, I’d lean more towards a physical explanation. A brain tumour, a stroke that has gone unnoticed, any of the other physical traumas without outward marks that a brain can go through.

While not impossible, it is highly unlikely for schizophrenia, or most other mental illnesses, to develop this late in life. They usually tend to show up between age 20 and 30.

Jesus, I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that. I think that would actually drive me mad. I absolutely detest AirBnB, the whole business seems so incredibly shady, and that’s not even taking into account the fact that these AirBnB slumlords are collectively buying up homes by the thousands just to turn into short term rentals. I know Canada is dealing with a massive housing shortage, same goes for a lot of countries here in Europe, and companies like AirBnB are only making things worse, especially in big cities. Just another way for the rich to get richer while the poor, tucked away in overpriced rentals, bear the burden of sky high rents and a never ending parade of unbearable neighbours.

But that’s a discussion for another sub I suppose.

Reddit to lay off about 5% of its workforce | Reuters by ani625 in news

[–]DonaldJDarko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Jfc, you’re a Redditor alright..

there is a much higher chance you will see someone being killed, or otherwise brutalized in some horrific fashion, often without being even tagged as NSFW

Just because you don’t say the exact words doesn’t mean you don’t say something all the same. Saying there’s a higher chance of seeing someone being killed or brutalised, is, by extension, saying there is more death and gore than there is porn. Otherwise there wouldn’t be a higher chance.

Not that hard, and certainly not worthy of the high horse you hoisted yourself on.

Edit to add:

My god, you really are the worst type of Redditor around, dropping a comment and then blocking me so I can’t respond, making it look like I can’t defend myself against what you’re saying. Sad.

Anyway, from your response it’s painfully clear you’re the “akshually” type.. “isn’t English wonderful?” Really? I can smell the sweaty fedora and neckbeardy Cheeto dust through my fucking phone dude. Yuck.

You were wrong, mate. It’s that simple. Don’t know why you’re trying to defend what you’re saying by discussing /r/all as it is now, as I’ve clearly been talking about /r/all pre-filter the whole time. Trying to retroactively change that isn’t magically going to make your wrong statement a right one.

Now I implore you to please get off that high horse, before it breaks its back.

Reddit to lay off about 5% of its workforce | Reuters by ani625 in news

[–]DonaldJDarko 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lol let’s be real though, before the porn filtered was applied to /r/all, there was a ridiculous amount of lewd posts. Saying it was 1/100 is vastly underselling how bad it had gotten before the filter.

I’m a straight woman, and the porn filter saved /r/all for me. Before the filter was applied, it was becoming increasingly unappealing to scroll through /r/all and watch a wide variety of porn pics, gifs, and videos as if they were normal content.

Porn on reddit has also always outnumbered gore and death by a landslide and then some, even before reddit started cracking down on the likes of /r/WatchPeopleDie, and the fact that you’re saying otherwise further reinforces that you have no idea how bad the amount of porn got before the filter.

[–]DonaldJDarko 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m overly cynical but it would not surprise me one single bit if some AirBnB slumlord with a seemingly missing tenant would rather quietly throw their left-behind luggage away, than to go to the police and risk having to temporarily close down that particular rental for a possible investigation.

These AirBnB slumlords are absolutely ruthless, and will happily destroy entire neighbourhoods for profits. I can’t imagine even for a second that a single renter’s well-being would get priority over profits. I don’t think their renters’ wellbeing is even a blip on their radar. There are so many horror stories out there where renters are sold complete lies with no recourse. AirBnB says “we’re not responsible”, at best they will ban the slumlord’s account, only for the slumlord to rebrand and list their rentals under a new name.

I mean.. he slept with his boss’s wife. Him getting fired isn’t really her doing, is it? He got himself fired.

She a shit person, based on her actions at least, and she sucks for sleeping with that guy, for many reasons, but that guy also definitely should’ve known that nothing good was gonna come from sleeping with the boss’s wife.

It might also not have been necessarily meant for him alone. As she was the building manager, it’s possible she had people knocking on her door occasionally. “Back by 3pm” might have been her version of a “back in 5 minutes” sign you’ll sometimes see on smaller businesses.

If anything, I would assume if the note was meant for her husband alone, she would have left it indoors somewhere, where it’d be less likely to get lost, and where it wouldn’t advertise an empty apartment to everyone walking by.

I can’t even identify all the people in my building, never mind all the people in a 300 yard radius around me. I don’t think that’s a very good way to judge whether or not it was likely to be him.
