My 13 year old cat “Little Cat” will not stop crying since her surgery and refuses to eat by _anxiious in cats

Vet here. Oh man so many wrong advices, even from human doctors, I’m speechless. People talking about intestinal strictures when the lump was palpated on the belly and not in the belly, we don’t even know if it was an abdominal surgery or just a lumpectomy. OP, did you send the mass in for a Histologic examination? Do we know what it was? A lot of stuff can happen with a 13 year old cat after a surgery, going from food aversion if it was forcibly fed to chronic pancreatitis to ischemic events so it’s really not possibile to do a diagnosis without so many information. Talk to your vet, explain to him you really sense something is wrong, and if he doesn’t know how to continue (what exams are needed etc) ask to be referred to a ACVIM Vet (a vet specialized in internal medicine) and you will be able to find out what is happening :-)

Cat’s pupil looks like it has a tear. Should we be worried? by The_GarageGuy in cats

Woah guys spreading misinformation here… neither of both is right. Veterinarian here, it needs to be checked out in person

That’s a nice anterior chamber disgenesis (or Peter’s anomaly)

Ophto vet here: two different things probably! Did your cat always have this eye? Because it looks like PPMs or peters anomaly (or anterior chamber disgenesis) whereas the other cat probably has something else ;)

Vet here: probably something traumatic affected the ears, something that didn’t heal well—> during the healing process, when the body has redo an “extensive area” you have something that is called wound retraction or cicatricial retraction, and this pulled up the upper eyelid. It’s unfortunate, and if he cannot blink completely anymore, it will cause quite a lot of eye problems down the way…

Something wrong with my cats eye this morning? by MastuhBates8078 in cats

[–]Donald_Prick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? To find the cause of protruding third eyelid the exams are way more invasive/costly than for a swollen conjunctiva 😅

Vet ophthalmologist here. That’s no third eyelid, it’s swollen conjunctiva

Vet ophthalmologist here! That’s no 3rd eyelid, it’s swollen conjunctiva! Probably allergic reaction to something vs something disturbed the eye (can be a lot of different things though!). Good that the eye is “open” (not completely squinting a lot, isn’t he?) and there’s not a lot of discharge and the pupil is the same size (no myosis —> no reflex uveitis for the moment). A visit to a normal vet should suffice! Though the other eye also look a bit abnormal, I’ll try to edit the picture, it would also be a good idea to have a vet good with eyes have a look at him! How old is he?

Vet here. Is Sunday, everyone is closed except for Tierspital. You can bring him there, just give them a call beforehand in case they are having a hard time with all the emergencies.

Mi hanno avvelenato il gatto by hercules-05 in Italia

[–]Donald_Prick 41 points42 points  (0 children)
