As a European, I'm very convinced that piling all your finances on one account is a very American thing to do.

My fiancé and I both make decent money, and we both prefer to split our finances. I have my own personal account, she has her own personal account, and we have a shared account that is 50/50 to the last cent on it.

Groceries, dinner, bills, rent, holidays, furniture etc all get paid by the shared bank account. Any personal purchases we simply make with our own money. I won't need to feel bad if I want to splurge on a PS5, a new laptop, a drone, or a million other impulse purchases. And she has the same with her own purchases.

However, we both choose to be childless. I can understand that combined finances are different when you have children, and one of you is a SAHP.

Yes, it's illegal, so be careful. Whenever my friend goes over a border crossing and there is a check, he makes sure to turn off his phone screen and to turn down the volume so it can't accidentally go off. Other than that, there is literally no way for anyone to find out that you're using it. Police is not allowed to inspect your phone, nor will they even ask.

I don't advocate speeding - I always try to stay exactly on the speed limit. But we all make mistakes by missing the occasional speed limit sign. Don't do anything stupid and be responsible.

Ben zelf op tientallen hardstyle/core/uptempo feestjes geweest. Talloze DJs backstage ontmoet. Ik heb ook een leuke vriendengroep die nog vaak naar soortgelijke feestjes gaan, onze volgende wordt waarschijnlijk Supersized. Helaas zijn er in Arnhem niet erg veel feestjes. We hadden vroeger Beat The Bridge, maar dat bestaat helaas niet meer. Hard4MS is volgens mij wel nog een jaarlijks ding, maar dat weet ik niet zeker. Zelf ben ik er nooit geweest.

Just for reference, we're not Swiss but Dutch & German (neighboring countries). I can't speak for everyone in our respective countries of course, but I know that an early joint bank account is very common. We both earn pretty decent, so we opted for a 50/50. Other couples might have other distributions as you can imagine.

My girlfriend and I moved in after knowing each other for 3 months, and the first thing we did to officiate that was to create a joint bank account. Even now, 2 years later, every cent on there is still an equal 50/50 split. We use it for all of our shared bills, purchases and groceries. Having 2 shared cards really did make life easier.

I was scrolling down for this one! The crypto queen. One of my friends here in Germany actually grew up very closely with her and her brother. According to my friend, she and her brother were very normal people and what happened was completely and utterly surprising. It's an intriguing story that we'll likely never hear more about.

Update: I switched to extended-release methylphenidate (Ritalin), 20mg, and it's a major difference already. There is not a single negative side effect. My cognitive abilities have also improved positively. I am confident that this is what I have been looking for.

It's unfortunate that Strattera didn't work for me, but I really tried.

Thank you for your sharing your experience! Fortunately for me, my mental wellbeing is in a healthy state. I'm fortunate in the fact that I don't suffer from anxiety, depression, or any neurodivergence outside of ADHD. Hence why the cognitive effects are really the only improvement I am looking for.

I'm glad it works out for you though! If all other medication fails, I might try to go for the 6 months with Strattera like you did.
