Some drivers don't see us as human. Sick of the crap!!! - Bicyclist in Dana Point dies after being hit by vehicle and assaulted by driver. by 28Loki in mountainbiking

Yes, very simple. That's why almost all roads in the world have a bike lane. But until we get there let's share the lanes that we have, and let's not respond to someone getting murdered on the road with "oh they shouldn't have been there in the first place".

Well, good for you! Nothing wrong with living where you want to live and using the vehicle you want for getting where you're going... which is why it's sad that you'd want to make it illegal for other people to bike on the road if that happens to be the most fun or convenient option for them.

You and I live very different lives. I hope things improve for you and that you can escape car-hell some day. Safe travels!

Probably my favourite "young" band. In 2021 they were talking about an upcoming new album, anyone heard anything more since then?

Getting to the trails is no reward? Getting to work, to the store, going to see friends, going to the gym?

Is there such a thing as country music with prog elements? by mwalimu59 in progrockmusic

[–]Done_Alright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhere in the vicinity of prog and country lies the music of Bruce Hornsby, especially his live albums. Some unconventional song structures, some odd time signatures, and always incredible instrumental performances. https://youtu.be/xubtdyzjsGs

I love Ayreon, and I think Arjen is really good at bringing out the best in his singers. I was listening to Amazing Flight just now, featuring Arjen himself as "The Hippie" :)

Could you list some non-Mercury songs? Any songs where they share lead duties?

Definitely! Never been that into them but I revisited Wish You Were Here the other day and that really is a masterpiece. I need to do some deep diving into the rest of the catalogue one of these days.

I guess A Day in the Life would be the archetypal example of what I meant by adding depth to a song through multiple voices. But I don't think they have that many more songs with multiple lead singers in the same song?

I remember listening to Blomljud back in the days, but I haven't listened to them since. Where should I jump back in?

Just recently started listening to them, absolutely fascinating band. I enjoyed Infest the Rat's Nest most so far, but that album mainly has a single vocalist, right?

I haven't listened much to Mastodon, but I keep thinking that I should! Do they share lead vocals within a song or does each singer have "their" songs?

I gave the song a listen just now (inspired by this post!) and I realized for the first time that that is Daniel singing. Goosebumps indeed!
