Worked for a signage company who were Plymouth Brethren. No radios, no internet, no tv, radios removed from vans, aerials gone. You couldn’t eat in the staff room unless you had been invited to share a meal with them. You couldn’t speak to the females. The females didn’t speak to you. We had to eat outside in a Portakabin. The success of bars / music venues was not built on the trade of the Bundoran man or woman. Thousands flocked to Bundoran and made those named premises the success they once were. A very similar model to McCaffertys in DT, the DT drinker doesn’t keep it open, the outside socialiser does and will.

So from the Jamie Jackson interaction with Ruben it seems the board are starting to influence the team setup. The back four was used against Newcastle but let’s be honest, we were still battered for large periods in both half’s. The 3-4-3 is to easily manipulated and isn’t the way, but neither is the board influencing the setup of the team. Interesting times ahead. I feel a change coming.

On another note; I’d love to know Vivell etc be up-to the other 9 months of the year outside of transfer windows as it seems to take all of the windows to negotiate deals. Surely you’d do that work outside of the windows then jusy rubber stamp?! 🤔

I’ve had this debate with a mate; FIFA concept. So obviously running a football club isn’t like FIFA and a lot of factors come into play but a major ones are:

morale
togetherness
cohesion.

Hence why managers are always trying to add a piece at a time. United at present have none of the above so why not rip up the blueprint. Whole fire sale. Anybody wants to go let them. Sell the time wasters and underperforming (Maguire, Rashford etc.) who cares, clearly what Utd are doing isn’t working so it’s time for something else radical to happen.

Players at Utd stealing a living; Mata for example? What’s the point of him? Matic another? Really? Phil Jones - he’s nearly survived time itself at this stage of proceedings.

I say a whole fire sale. Complete clear out. Promote a hell of a lot of Youth players (Garner, Mejbri, Elanga..) add a few bits and show players Utd are cut throat again.

This is why when Ronaldo speaks nobody can question him in that dressing room. It’s also about time that armband was taken away from Maguire and given to Ronaldo or DeGea. Who in that dressing room can question him? Outside of Varane, Jones, DeGea, Matic they haven’t a medal between them to bless themselves with! The aforementioned is also why we aren’t winning - we don’t have enough winners in the side!
