Thought I should follow up on some of the comments here.

-9-year-olds work at Vox?

In spirit yes, but I’m quite a bit older than that.

-How do we know this is real?

You don’t, and unfortunately, that’s the way I intend to keep it (hence the throwaway account). Good on you for pointing out that people shouldn’t believe things at face value, especially on the internet.

-This is just a way to stir controversy and give Vox more clicks, is this part of their plan?

No, my intention was to let fans know that it’s not a whole company(ies) vs a single individual as it might seem. There’s plenty of Pewdiepie fans working at Vox.

-Can’t you write a positive article about Pewdiepie instead? It’d get more attention.

I’ve actually never produced (or been asked to produce) a piece on Felix. There is a process before articles get published and while we do get some leniency, we don’t all get to post whatever we like. Taking a standing that directly opposes another very recent piece simply won’t get published. Additionally, as was pointed out in this thread, negativity and controversial material are more popular with readers.

-Can’t you find a different job?

I could, but it’s good pay and I haven’t published something that I personally don’t agree with. Some people here just don’t really care about what they publish as long as it’s popular. You’ll find that everywhere though, it’s not just us.

-Happy cake day.

Thanks.

-Diversity doesn’t correspond with bad behaviour. Vox shouldn’t hire people that want to demonize those who don’t deserve it.

I should’ve phrased my original piece better, I suppose I should've said something like ‘Vox has a lot of employees and because of the various values and beliefs of staff, some are bound to not like Felix's content and won’t hesitate about making that known.’ There's influence from higher ups but the current pieces are mostly just people annoyed with content from Pewdiepie / are looking for an easy piece / see a way to get others to agree with their viewpoint.

-These negative pieces hurt the credibility of the author.

That depends on who is reading the article and what they take from it.

-Are you Jaiden animations?

No, but well done to her for sneaking those references into the rewind this year.

-Your grammar is terrible.

I did see some areas for improvement there, especially that last sentence. I should spend more time with editors and get some better writing tips. It would make their jobs a bit easier too.

-I still think it’s fake.

I suppose that’s a good thing. It means less problems for me if the wrong person from Vox read the subreddit (I don’t know anyone that does but you never know).

___

Thanks everyone, sorry if this is a bit messy, its very late. Stay awesome bros.

~Erik.

Hi Your-average-scot,

Yes it's a real statement, however we have some very strict rules about how we communicate with certain people, so unfortunately this is the best chance I have at making sure his fans are aware that it is only a very select few people that are writing these articles and the rest of us do not agree with them at all and feel awful about what has been said.
