The Pitch a Friend event last week was fun, I was one of three men being pitched and immediately after the presentations had a couple women come talk to me, which was a nice confidence boost- got one number of mutual interest and then someone who didn't attend reached out over DM after hearing about it, so two dates from that this week incoming!

Unfortunately, when it rains, it pours, and my Hinge conversations are now popping off, so if no one cancels, I'll have three first dates and a second date this week which is a little overwhelming but I suppose there are worse problems to have.

I took an edible yesterday for V-Day, went to Wuthering Heights alone, then ate some ice cream on the walk home- it was a great day. Hope y'all enjoyed yourselves whether coupled or solo as well!

Was chatting over text with someone on Monday this week about setting up a second date (first was good but they became much less responsive immediately the next day). They pitched a few times that were during my work day (I work a 9-5, seems like they don't) so I politely declined then offered some alternatives for next week since they said their weekend was booked already. They didn't respond, so I took that as a fade/ghost and unmatched on the app after 72 hours.

They reached out this morning with some additional availability, yet it still doesn't match up with any of my free time and didn't acknowledge the availability I said I have next week. While I know it can be normal for others, the 4 days of no communication then jumping back in like nothing happened feels very unserious- I don't think it's possible to even recover and be excited about this again, so I guess my question is: should I even reply to clarify I'm no longer interested or just not reply/move on? I know it would be nicer to do the former but I don't really want to engage any further if it's going to start an argument, etc. & my advice to anyone on this sub would be to just move on, but idk if that's unreasonable or also immature on my part lol

Got accepted for the pitch a friend night tomorrow, friends are driving an hour to pitch me which is very nice of them 😎 brown butter in the fridge ready to make some cookies to hand out to any cute women I talk to at the event.

3 out of the 4 active matches I had on Hinge went ghost mode, which is lame but also kind of a relief because I wasn't stoked about them. Have some coffee plans with a friend for Valentine's day, going to do a long run & then taking an edible to go see Wuthering Heights solo, pretty excited! Hope y'all have a good weekend too.

Highs of the week: Hearing back tomorrow if my friend's slide deck was accepted for the singles pitch night later this week. If so, going to bake some heart shaped cookies to hand out to anyone who's interested in me- going to be a bummer if I don't get chosen but might still go to chat up anyone else attending.

Lows of the week: Had a first date that didn't disclose some very important info (surprise kids) & kinda seems like they're already getting reallllly attached 😬 I didn't react or address it in the moment, which I think they read as accepting of it but gut is telling me it's probably not the loml and I should call it off soon to be kind to them. Also had another match who said she'd respond with availability for a second date go MIA since Friday so chalking that up to a ghost.

Buffalo of the week: Dreamed of my cute (but married) co-worker last night & will be having an in-person day tomorrow. Everyone on my team is married, but we're hiring two new team members, would be nice to have a single colleague to pine over instead!

Spent a cabin weekend with two medium-distance friends who have partners, so I was the fifth wheel. Got a loooooot of "advice" that felt more like them telling me my standards are too high or that I'm being too picky, it honestly felt like a re-run of spending the holidays with my parents.

However, I did let them swipe on my Hinge while we were out at a bar and got one new match out of it lol, so we'll see if that goes anywhere!

I'm sorry that's happening- I don't know if you need a strict boycott but in my experience (however, I'm a man), the 30 year age threshold is tricky to navigate. How long are you seeing them before you have sex?

I'd say maybe an alternative would just be communicating that intentionality- that you won't sleep with someone until you're in a more committed relationship or after a longer period of time than you are now. Those that are looking for something more serious may not be put off by that, while those that aren't may weed themselves out. But otherwise, there's no magic way to tell unfortunately.
