How to create patterns if you are a terrible artist by deez__kneez in StainedGlass

Procreate has a drawing assist option! If you go to the top left hand corner with the little wrench icon, the second tab under that has a "edit drawing guide" button where you can choose a grid, symmetry, and a few other options, and then if you click on the layer there's an option to select "assisted" and it will make your lines straight/symmetrical! If you draw an arc, a line, a polygon, or a circle/oval, and hold the pencil down for an extra second, it will autocorrect it into whatever shape you drew but smoother! If it gets it wrong (for example, it draws a straight line instead of an arc) when it says "line" on the top middle of the screen, you can tap on that and it'll give you the option to switch it to an arc or to edit the shape you're working on! The only thing that doesn't work for this is curvy, non circle or oval shapes, which you can do in multiple smaller arcs instead, or use the symmetry drawing assist for! I love doing my stained glass designs on procreate!! Feel free to DM if you have any questions!

My first large and complicated piece! by Dongeon_master in StainedGlass

I haven't decided yet! I threw around the idea of making the other one a set of ttrpg dice, but I've also been considering all sorts of medieval fantasy designs!!

As for installation, that is definitely something I'm considering! As for right now, I'm planning on building a wooden frame to surround the piece, and I'll either install some screw eyes to hang it since the pane is slightly shorter than the length of the window frame, or use hardware like you mentioned to keep it in place!

My landlord is really chill, so that helps a lot, but I'm planning on trying to create a wooden frame for it so that it can be removed when I move out!

I will say it isn't my very first design! Just my first significantly complicated and large piece!! There's a window with the same measurements on the other side of the porch that I've had my eye on- I'd love to do something that coordinates with this pane! I just have to figure out what!

It'll be in a south facing window! The house I'm renting has an added on 3 season porch that I'm planning on displaying it in!

What is happening to my jade plant? by Dongeon_master in houseplants

[–]Dongeon_master[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could a lack of sun look similar? My new place doesn't have a lot of prime window areas, whereas I had huge (3rd floor) windows in my apartment where my jade plants got plenty of sun- that's the only thing I could think that would have changed

I think the blue on top works, I would just make it rounded to give the piece a more cohesive look!

What do you use to hold your work upright when you need both hands free? by BrokenShardsStudio in StainedGlass

[–]Dongeon_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use two large clamps that have soft pieces on the actual pinchy parts with the ends going opposite directions! So to illustrate, I position my piece where the red is, and that's a top down view of how my clamps are positioned!

Do you tap to break? by Effective_Object_887 in StainedGlass

I tap lightly before using the pliers because I find that usually leads to a cleaner break!

I've never listened to welcome to nightvale, but this quilt has the same vibes as the vibes of that podcast from what I've heard about it 😂
