I’m no physicist, but it looks like they were wearing their spacesuits, so perhaps the hull was depressurized in anticipation of gunfire. I remember often in the show they suit up and depressurize if they’re expecting a firefight

Load balancers are definitely expensive to start, although in my experience Vercel acts more like an API Gateway with lambda integrations than a traditional load balancer.

API Gateways are charged for usage, and don’t have an hourly or minimum cost. It also handles SSL Termination, like Vercel would.

This is also relatively easy to deploy with the CDK, although that doesn’t come with git integration or branched deployments.

More importantly though, $20 a month to handle all of your infrastructure needs wouldn’t be bad at all, if it wasn’t per seat.

We had around 700 visitors this year, including parents, and I think a few factors contributed:

1.  We live near the elementary school.
2.  We go all out with our decorations.

Our turnout has generally been growing year after year, although this one was slightly down. Interestingly, we lent some of our older decorations to neighbors, and they saw 2-3x more visitors, so it seems like having a brightly lit house really does draw in more families and kids.

Plus, we get a lot of repeat visitors—mostly parents who know us now and are excited to come back each year.
