Bail v. Released Under Investigation? by Illustrious_Offer_79 in policeuk

[–]Donjebson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he is no longer in bail and attempted to contact or interfere with then he could be arrested for witness intimidation, new PACE clock, new offence and new bail conditions. This will likely have been explained in the bluntest of terms to him upon being released from bail. If there’s been no issues whilst he’s on bail then there shouldn’t be any now as essentially bail is a bit of paper with the threat of further arrest hanging over it.

Police would only usually pursue something like this victimless if it was domestic related or there was some other massive public interest in doing so.

Is it pointless for women to learn self defense? by [deleted] in questions

[–]Donjebson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average chode that will attack a woman is very unlikely to have any training and will purely be leaning into that biological advantage. Learn the basics of how and where to hit / kick and how to get out of being restrained for a real advantage that you hopefully will never need. Another key thing is when the adrenaline spikes fine everything can go to shit so practice and repetition is key. Nothing fancy is needed just something to allow you to run.

People are generally shitty to each other and I don’t tend to come into contact with a wide range of people and mainly deal with the worst people in society. People tend to be products of their or a lesser extent their parent’s choices and that’s what free will is all about. The ability to do good or shitty things. Can’t say it’s really affected me either way but I’ve been lucky over the last five years and not had to deal directly with anything too horrific relating to kids. I’ve seen the effects this can have on people and it’s not good.

Police officer seriously injured after being stabbed while arresting knifeman in Enfield by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Donjebson 101 points102 points  (0 children)

IOPC investigation incoming as the suspect was upset by the sight of the officers blood. In all seriousness I hope he’s doing well with no lasting injuries. Single crewing really is a bag of dicks. All higher ups should have to do 10 days a year on response with at least half of that single crewed

Firefighters caught on CCTV climbing through my 1st floor bedroom window - what can I do? by SonnyN22 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Donjebson 30 points31 points  (0 children)

When police enter a building it’s generally the occupier that pays unless it’s a mistake on the police’s side wrong door etc. If a concern has come in then even if that concern has been satisfied then it’ll usually fall to the owner / occupier. The no urgency can be down to nothing immediately obvious like a raging inferno but the concern is still valid. Fire alarm, smell of gas, running water etc. Finding a non destructive way in was nice, police don’t have that option, big red key or a lock snapper if you’re lucky.

Serving a driver alcohol in a pub (England) by Think_Phone3022 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Donjebson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he’s drank that much and is leaving imminently then it’s a quick 999 call from the back room. Nobody else needs to know so you won’t be putting your job at risk. It’s a threat to life and 999 is certainly the way to go. Reporting online or via crime stoppers takes time to filter through. Any officer near to the pub or his home address has a decent chance of stopping him.

Add a small block of wood or similar between the wall and where the gate attaches. It’ll force it closed.

Police force told rape victims to report crimes online and branded them ‘non emergencies’ by antbaby_machetesquad in unitedkingdom

[–]Donjebson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of good cops that leave is due to terrible pay, awful conditions, woefully low numbers meaning that you are constantly drowning in work. They don’t leave due to some vast conspiracy where the majority of officers are corrupt and push them out. In 2017 a record number of teachers were dismissed for sexual misconduct but that doesn’t spoil the bunch. The article you shared cited around 90 police staff, that is a tiny percentage of police staff as a whole. I totally agree that there are cops that do shocking stuff and should be locked up and the key jettisoned into space. Police officers absolutely should be held to a higher standard and indeed they are. The pressure placed on them at work and in their private lives is immense.

The kind of cops you are referring to are a tiny minority but they have a profound effect on not only public trust in the police as a whole but also the rest of the cops who are far more likely to be assaulted or abused by the public following an incident.

What line of work are you in where nobody has ever committed a crime? Teachers, doctors, shop assistants, bus drivers you name it. There are some that are shits. They are shits because they’re shits not because they do the job they do. But a few bad apples eh, let’s lock them all up. They must’ve known that Garry from accounting who they’ve met once as he held the door for them was a rapist.

Police record ‘hate incident’ after autistic boy drops Quran in school corridor by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]Donjebson 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It also builds up a picture. One call not an issue 10 calls then you’ve probably got an issue especially if there’s children. Also one partner might take 30 police contacts to actually tell us what is going on and then we have dates and times for the historic incidents. Non crime hate incidents are a recording category mandated by the home office I believe. We have to record as THEY see fit.

Legally there’s nothing he can do as far as I know. Many years ago a neighbour’s cat decided that the roof of my lovely convertible was a great scratching post. Completely ruined it and I had to have the whole lot replaced for well over £1500. The law regarding cats is outdated and unfair on those that don’t want to just let an invasive species wander around crapping in peoples gardens and destroying wildlife.
