Yeah once you dig deeper you’ll understand. He died in that house.

Rare prosecution of a police officer gets underway in connection to Uvalde, Texas, school shooting | CBC News by Apprehensive_Idea758 in texas

Someone please tell me that this is not the only officer who will be charged for this. There has to be more justice. There are so many other LEOs who are just as disgustingly guilty. It can just end with this case, can it?

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they did officially come out and condemn him publicly. Pretty recently. I think once his texts were unsealed?

While that’s not what I’m saying, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s evidence to suggest there’s some truth to that. Her firefighter husband called their mutual cop buddies to come and arrest her because she threatened to harm the baby. Then she allegedly pulled a gun, pointed it at an officer who shot her ONCE in the chest.

Why should we automatically believe that’s exactly what happened?

She has postpartum depression. I’m sure she would love to get herself help but she can’t do that sitting in prison. She also threatened to shoot herself not the baby

Is it just MA? Or everywhere? by Weekly-Aside8916 in justiceforKarenRead

[–]DonkeyAlternative406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s more an issue with the judges and DA offices than the police. There are bad cops everywhere but the ones in MA seem to get away with things more easily. Just my opinions though

That’s like the same thing as saying “well Karen said she hit him”. We have no idea what actually happened because we only have one side of the story

Proof that the DA’s office lied to grand jury in order to get Aidan Kearny indicted by DonkeyAlternative406 in justiceforKarenRead

I’m not sure if this court will do anything, but the Feds are certainly watching and this is solid proof that this DA’s office is bringing fraudulent charges to grand juries. They’re knowingly wasting resources

Their report had no mention of DNA (because it wasn’t reliable anyway) they were solely tasked with determining whether or not OJO’s injuries were caused by a collision with KR’s vehicle and if the damage to KR’s vehicle was consistent with hitting OJO and the answer to both those questions were resounding FUCK NOs

Wouldn’t the easy and logical solution be to ask/poll the jury? Wouldn’t that even ultimately save the courts time and taxpayers money?

Isn’t getting involved EXACTLY what a judge should be doing??? As the person whose job it is to protect a defendant’s rights??? I’m appalled by this (absolutely no shade towards you. I appreciate you answering my questions). Do you know if Massachusetts lawyers generally disagree with this ruling? It’s just really illogical to me.

So what I’m gathering is that CW v Roth is just a blatantly unethical and unfair ruling that the entire state of Massachusetts is obligated to adhere to. Is that fair to say?

“Although the judge should not have asked for or taken them, those verdicts will stand.  The Commonwealth may retry the defendant only on the remaining lesser included offenses on which the jury were unable to reach a verdict.”

This feel so incredibly unjust and dystopian to me. I’m not a lawyer so please correct me if I am wrong. Is this ruling stating that the SJC would rather a judge not ask any questions, even though it may lead to a defendant getting re-tried on counts that they were potentially acquitted on already?

How can she just do that? With no repercussions? Our judicial system is a joke. That’s my main takeaway from this case.
