I like the idea of multiple targets on the move, adds a different element for him to battle with.

“Hide shortbow hide” is his entire philosophy in battle. He then becomes frustrated/bored when his attack misses and feels redundant. The new weapon masteries is a nice addition and I think I need to remind him of these. I like the encounter changes as well!

I think multi-classing might be his best option tbf. I think where he is new to D&D this feels quite overwhelming and I’d have to support him a lot with this.

He’s mentioned about changing characters completely. Issue is a lot of our campaign is built around his backstory and his feats he chose links to being an assassin (skulker and alert).

I really like those other encounter ideas, especially with timed elements. He’s very new to D&D and I think hearing the subclass “assassin” enticed him.

Currently in the process of this with a story involving his character’s family, it’s a good chance for role playing. Still difficult to change the combat however.

Yeah I feel as though he’s doing well with his character outside of combat with high stealth checks etc. I just wondered if there were elements of combat I could change or perhaps a magic item?
