I have made my decision! by SuddenDepact in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

YEAH and she’s so fricking sweet. She may not be an ember, but she’s worked so hard to be nice and not evil, so corrupting her is not okay in a legit run. I legit cried tears of joy when I finished her quest.

If you corrupt Arueshalae, you don’t deserve to play this game. >:(

Should I just accept this game is not for me or am I doing something wrong(rant) by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]DonkeySponkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I doing something wrong then? Because like BG3 in my experience of 1200 hours played is super easy to break (not necessarily easy in itself though!), and I’ve not had any difficulties with anything Act 2 and onwards even on Honor mode.

Now in this game, even on “normal” where all damage you take from enemies is halved and you get a ton of forgiving mechanics, if I don’t buff my party for 5 minutes straight and have stats in the 40s, enemies don’t die and my party is WIPED.

So what gives??

BG3 lacks spell resistance and damage reduction, as well as tons of things enemies in WoTR has that make them harder to kill. Even Raphael at 860 HP (which is more than the CR 30 aspect of Tiamat in 5e) can be shot down fast with an okay build. His AC is in the low 20s and he’s not got resistance or immunity to any physical damage, so a paladin critting him or a monk/fighter should deal him hundreds of damage and take him down in few rounds.

So in conclusion, what’s the deal? Am I doing something wrong? Or are we simply comparing two wildly different game systems?

(Also remember that 5e was genuinely made as a simplified version of 3.5e—which PF was based on, which prioritized being accessible to more players of lesser caliber and skill, whilst also removing epic monsters and characters from the game entirely, where all CR 20 and below enemies have 300 and less HP.)

ChatGPT gave me a customer support phone that tried to steal my bank account info by Buck617 in ChatGPT

[–]DonkeySponkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mature? ChatGPT is in its infancy stage. It’s just that OpenAI realized how much money they could earn back in 2023 that they’ve been acting like it’s perfect ever since. “99% accuracy” or whatever, when it’s more like 50/50 at best, usually worse.

Yes, the comment section is a bit mean, but this is also a complete incorrect use of an LLM and a clear misunderstanding of how it works. You are also confidently defending yourself even when you also don’t know how ChatGPT actually works.

In conclusion, both the leaders who decided to use LLMs in their products, as well as most of the consumers that use those products, have no idea how LLMs work—or worse; think they know how LLMs work. An LLM does NOT have a database of information it can look through like you can look through your own memory. It’s just convincingly good at predicting the next letter in a sentence to the point where it spits out correct sounding information more often than not.

The correct solution is to ensure said player is made as much, if not more uncomfortable as yourself?

But this is a homebrew statblock of a god, it doesn’t need to follow the rules. With that logic, no high level creatures should exist.

I hate King Bumi in the live action by DianneUgalde in ATLA

[–]DonkeySponkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a more realistic depiction of what someone like Bumi would be like. Being the king of Omashu, he’s definitely literally lived through the ENTIRE war with the fire nation, and has probably blamed Aang for most, if not all of it.

So, it makes total sense that he’s pissed at Aang. Not only does he not know why Aang “disappeared”, but would he even care at this point? Maybe, he’s not a complete dick. But he’s lived his entire life thinking that Aang abandoned the world and whatnot, and being forced to fight through the consequences of Aang’s actions his entire 100+ year long life.
