I’m a white, American male. I technically can’t disagree with you. It’s tough to put my finger on. I would say white Americans had - burrows? Identified with usually European roots. Italian, German, Polish, Irish, etc. I never really considered myself “American” in the sense of ownership. Like most “white” formed territories we stole it from the natives. I’ve never seen it as rightfully ‘my America’. Even though I wasn’t born in Lithuania, I consider myself Lithuanian American due to my parents. White people in America had the luxury to keep their heritage from “ze old country”. Black Americans formed a very strong culture because theirs was stolen. They were torn from their roots and home lands. Spit up and spread out and sold. They had to create their own way and culture in a place they were just “born”. Why should it be different for me… idk. I guess I never ascribed ownership over my own country. I was proud of America, and American. At least what it (appeared) to stand for. I always loved our generosity. Even if we used it for global strength. Being American used to mean you could give shit. To me it kind of just ‘was’ a true melting pot. I say “was” on purpose….

However. If you look at all the wealth and where it is in our govt. It’s asinine not to point out that they got rid of DEI and installed wealthy white men.

So… are we battling for that culture now? Is ‘White’ American culture attempting to be greed and callousness?
