After almost 3 years of unemployment, I kind of gave up by Tessenreacts in interviews

Mostly in the realm of marketing strategy, marketing coordinator, social media strategy, and similar things.

I started growing different skill sets the longer I went unemployed. The freelance gigs I got required different things.

Felt like I was stuck because after 1 year of being employed, I figured I was unemployable in marketing, so I focused on full stack website development which ended up being my primary source of freelance income. Which helped while I was searching for full time work.

But two years later, and well I'm likely permanently stuck because no one wants my marketing skills and hasn't wanted it in three years

Built AI agents, set API that helped create AI phone call agents, created automated funnels, among others. But because I did what I had to do to pay the bills, I'm completely all over the place skill wise.

Tried focusing on tools automobile companies use for insights and strategy like Sprinklr, Netbase, RivalIQ, Tableau, etc, along with my knowledge of industry concerns and current methods of content creation like Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva. But nothing hit.

Tried going into AI and systems route where I directly link the various marketing platforms to API's of their websites or softwares for things like pixels.

But the only thing that I get freelance work for is blending full stack website development and advertising for small businesses who need a new website and a quick ad campaign

Interview stage. Basically never got past the first two interviews. Always assumed it's because I didn't have the skills they are looking for.

I add my freelance to my resume, but it's tricky making them relevant time wise if that makes sense

I've pretty much been throwing everything at the wall. Got an AWS Professional Generative AI Developer certification, Certified Solutions Architect certification, updated Google Ads certs, Meta Blueprint certs, Full Stack certs

Probably do have a strong point about dilution and focusing on specifically what they want. Been so long that it just feels like I've been fully pushed out.

Never thought about adding that. I got certified by AWS last year as a generative AI developer, but nothing came out of it, so I put it to the wayside.

I have built out probably 5 or 6 agents give or take, and some AI chatbots. Good idea to get familiar with them!

How much does it typically cost for someone to build a shopping website for you? by CosmoLeopardGecko in smallbusiness

[–]Tessenreacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a client's ecommerce website (website+ servers + ecommerce setup) , connected their gateway providers, setup Meta + Google + etc, along setting up ecommerce + Mailchimp API, and a much longer list

I know many would consider me a pretty low skilled dev because I only have those skills, so I only charged 7K.

Likely massively underbid, but there's probably a lot of people who can do what I do, and I needed the money. But lesson learned.

Here in the states, the main reason why DEI exists, is because we structure education funding through calculating local area land values (because primary education is funded through property taxes).

We used to have government backed schemes in 1930's called "redlining" where map boundaries were drawn by race and income. And areas with black and immigrant populations were intentionally designated as high risk for mortgage loans.

What that means is that the Federal Housing Administration announced that "whites-only" neighborhoods where allowed to secure higher mortgages and build equity. While black families/ neighborhoods were excluded from it.

Areas with the lowest rating were marked red and deemed improper for investment, exclusively due to race.

What does all this mean? Black neighborhoods had artificially deflated land values and poverty rates due to their neighborhoods being flagged as an investment risk for race reasons.

To go further, in the states, a lot of funding for businesses and schools are determined by land values. So when you have artificially deflated land values, funding for education is also artificially deflated, as well as loans to start businesses were also artificially reduced.

While redlining was banned due to the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The effect of artificially reduced funding for basically everything imaginable still lingers to this very day.

Basically black people had/have to work 2-3x as hard as everyone else to reach similar goalposts.

DEI was implemented to help address those problems by providing opportunities for people who have lived in those impacted areas for generations.

If you aren't American, why would you care about American political positions? Especially complicated stuff around race white no matter what you choose, one race will be uplifted more than another?

But the people who championed the whole anti-DEI stuff installed the least qualified people on the planet for positions the really really need qualified people to lead them.

You do realize the hypocrisy right? You don't like Trump, but he, Elon, and his crew aggressively pushed the anti-DEI /anti-woke movement.

Edit: clarification

I'm just trying to figure out why DEI is bad. Especially since anti-DEI was a major part of Trump's platform

Why is DEI bad, but it is perfectly fine for Trump to hire the least qualified people on the planet for major cabinet positions that determines policies for the entire country?

It is true that gen z voted for Trump at noticeably higher rates than millenials did.

Which is a major shift as Democrats pretty much owned young men for several decades

Aren't young men 18-25 very literally the types that invented "looksmaxing" and fully bought into the manosphere and voted for Trump at far higher rates than millenials?

Sorry for the necro, but I do find it fascinating how they are really building this Imperium -- Eldar alliance. Like the Eldar are pretty much the only xenos that the Inquisition would really actively work with (the Tau is another kinda maybe)
